Here's a Picture of Hillary Clinton Playing GameBoy

She previously joked that she was "addicted" to GameBoy and Tetris.

The William J. Clinton Library has posted a photo of Hillary Clinton doing what so many others did in the early 1990s: playing GameBoy. The photo you see below was taken on April 6, 1993 on her flight from Austin, Texas to Washington, DC. At this time, Bill Clinton was President and she was the First Lady.

Hillary Clinton, the former US Secretary of State, is now herself running for President in the upcoming 2016 election. She announced her bid earlier this month and has been on the campaign trail since.

It's tough to determine what game Hillary Clinton was playing in the photo, but it was probably Tetris. As spotted by Polygon, a 2002 New York Times story reveals she was particularly fond of that game. And in a April 1993 interview with Time [PDF], Hillary Clinton joked that she was "addicted" to Tetris.

"I have become quite a fan of GameBoy," she said at the time, noting that she bought her own so she wouldn't have to keep borrowing her daughter's.

"I really became addicted in the hospital," she said with a laugh. "I'm going to seek treatment."

Vox also notes that the photo was snapped at a challenging time in Hillary Clinton's life, as it was taken the day before her father passed away. She had been at his bedside in the hospital for weeks.

Current US President Barack Obama also enjoys video games; he even owns a copy of The Witcher.

If Hillary Clinton gets elected, this is what will most likely happen: she will ban the word "bossy", censor or ban GTA games because they are "problematic" and tell scientists what types of clothes they can and cannot wear. Oh, and she will promote Jonathan McIntosh, Brianna Wu, Zoe Quinn and Anita Sarkeesian and probably imprison gamergate supporters.

Lololol!!! Don't let this ***** (or eddie for that matter) fool you. Hilary DOES NOT SUPPORT THE GAMING INDUSTRY! She is against free speech in gaming. Just look up FEPA (family entertainment protection act) that she co sponsored with Joe Liberman.

I don't care what hilary Clinton stands for, but no gamer should vote for her.

Cool stuff...I still hope Bernie Sanders runs. He's the one we need for the democratic candidate, not some shill for the massive banks and corporations.

@Jedilink109: You think the country would be better under communism? Really? You kids are so g0ddamn stupid. Well, the great thing about America is that people get the government they deserve. So have fun, comrade. Video Games are a cultural liability and divert wealth from "the people". They shall be banned. Fukking mor0n.

I said absolutely NOTHING AT ALL about Communism. You just pulled that out of nowhere. You just made that up.

And guess what? Helping other people within society or having a government that does the same does not make someone or a system doing that communist. Countries all over the world do things to actually help and benefit their own citizens. America doesn't so much now because almost everyone in Congress is paid off to only work for those who already have all the money and power.

Next time, just skip past the comment if you're going to do nothing but make an ignorant comment while arguing with the person over something they never even said in the first place.

Loads of gaming outlets posting this 23 year old image. I guess we know these people have already decided who they're supporting in 2016...and clearly they want you to support her too.

I wonder what types of games she plays. Also, polls show that there is a huge percentage of gamers that are eligible to vote. So in this picture she is shown holding a gameboy, not playing one.

Good one, Gamespot. You found a new hate-magnet to get people to post irrational ranting about. Between mobile games, Apple devices, anything not Sony and politics, you have lots of fodder for click bait.

It is an interesting slice of history and it involves games. It isn't an endorsement of Clinton or anything else. It is just an interesting picture of a famous person you wouldn't expect to game gaming.

@deathstream@strahd01: Of course it's an endorsement of Clinton, there's no other reason to bring it up other than to remind your audience that they could have something in common with her.

It is what it is. Their is enough politics outside this website. If you want to show me a picture of Carter playing Atari or Reagan holding a Nintendo controller then that is history. But showing us presidential forerunners playing video games is politics. I don't want to see Jeb Bush playing a Wii or Marco Rubio with a GBA on gamespot either. I don't come to gamespot to read "libtard" and "tea bagger" comments. I come here to be flamed for being a PC user.

No, it is an interesting slice of history that happens to involve video games. If you vote for her because she played Tetris, you are not smart.

This is so cool! A future president that will play games in her spare time. Amazing, oh and she will be the first woman in the Oval Office. So cool! And hookers are for Hillary too. Just super neat! At this point, it doesn't matter what policy she runs on, she gets my vote on these three things alone. I hope that the people voting just blindly walk to the polls like the last 4 presidential elections. We've already had race politics, so now it's time for gender politics. So great...

@billgates: Everyone has the right to vote. Thinking that people of a certain demographic should be prevented from voting is called voter suppression, and sadly voter suppression is the only way conservatives can win elections, in a lot of cases

@Spartan_418: Voting is not, has never been and I'd like to think will never be (but idiots like Obama and his ilk work daily to destroy the constitution and the republic which was based upon it) a right. It is a privilege afforded citizens meeting certain requirements that was paid for by the blood of heroes and rebels. That is why felons in jail cannot vote. The founding fathers intended for landowners to be the only ones who could vote. To ensure that only people who had skin in the game had representation. Representation for the purpose of taxation is what it is all about. People who get EIC and pay negative taxes should never have a voice. Why? Because where we are now. The worst candidates get elected and purely for the freebies, handouts and entitlements. Also, show me a single g0ddamn case of voter "supression". A single case, and I'll believe you. Yeah I thought so. Conservatives are the ones lining up the New Black Panther party outside of polls implying threats of physical harm to people who may not vote for the entitlements. So sleep well knowing that the country is in steep decline because of mor0nic pieces of offal like yourself.

That is the nature of a Presidential system as opposed to a Parliamentary system. A third candidate is likelier to siphon votes than move to the top.
