Nintendo has released more images showing the graphical update Pokemon Scarlet/Violet will be getting on the Switch 2, ahead of the new console's launch next week.

The screenshots, shared as a footnote on a Nintendo blog post about Pokemon Legends ZA, show the Paldea region populated by wild Pokemon, with the update making use of the Switch 2's enhanced processing power to increase the game's draw distance.

"You can now see Pokemon from further away, making them look even more vivid," the post reads. "With improved frame rates and other features, the movement is smoother, allowing you to enjoy your adventure comfortably."

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet are part of a group of 12 Nintendo Switch games that will be getting free updates when the Switch 2 releases on June 5. The original announcement says that the dual Pokemon titles will have their visuals "optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs for improved image quality," as well as improved frame rate for smoother movement.

These enhanced editions will require paid upgrades.

The Nintendo Switch 2 releases next week on June 5, with Mario Kart World the major first-party launch title for the new console. Check out all the other games we know are coming to the Switch 2 so far.
