Here's How to Request New Pokemon Go PokeStops and Gyms

Don't have many PokeStops or Gyms near you for Pokemon Go? Here's some good news: developer Niantic is now letting people submit requests for new ones.

You can visit this support page (via Kotaku) to file a request, where you can also submit a picture of the area you would like to see become a PokeStop or Gym. You can only request a business as a new location, not a home. This is probably for the best.

Niantic did not say what criteria it will use to determine whether or not it accepts a request or how quickly it might turn around an appeal. Whatever the case, this could be a boon for people who live in areas that don't have many PokeStops or Gyms.

You can also use the request form to let Niantic know if you think a PokeStop or Gym is located in a dangerous area or to report a PokeStop that exists on your personal property.

Whether the Massachusetts man whose converted church home is still labeled a church (and thus a Pokemon Go Gym) has used this feature remains to be seen.

In other recent Pokemon Go news, a 15-year-old girl was hit by a car after playing the game, while a man who admitted to playing behind the wheel crashed his vehicle into a tree. Additionally, US Senator Al Franken wrote a letter to Niantic Labs in which he raised his concerns about Pokemon Go's privacy settings.
