Here's When Baldur's Gate 3 Could Come To Xbox
Fans might not have to wait much longer.
Baldur's Gate 3 could arrive on Xbox as soon as next month, Larian's Swen Vincke has said. Speaking to IGN, Vincke said the studio is aiming to launch Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox "as fast as we can." For anyone just catching up, Larian ran into issues with the Xbox Series S version of Baldur's Gate 3 that apparently stopped the company from being able to support split-screen. But after meeting with Xbox's Phil Spencer, Larian announced that Baldur's Gate 3 would come to Xbox Series X and Series S this year, though without split-screen on Series S.
Now, Larian is penciled in a release window of between September and November for Baldur's Gate 3's launch on Xbox. "It's 2023. And 2023 is narrowing, so it's already pretty precise in my book. Between September and November," Vincke said.
The developer went on to say that Larian is prioritizing the PS5 edition of Baldur's Gate 3 right now, as well as the ongoing updates for PC.
"There's a bunch of stuff that needs to happen to finalize it. But I think from a content point of view and from a technical point of view, we're actually very close," Vincke said of the Xbox version of Baldur's Gate 3.
While Baldur's Gate 3 won't have split-screen on Series S at launch, this feature might be added later.
In other news, Larian has announced that a second Baldur's Gate 3 patch for PC is in the works. It will have major changes, including requests made by fans.
The RPG officially launched on PC earlier this month after being in Early Access since 2020. It's been a huge hit, reaching a peak of more than 875,000 concurrent players. For more, check out GameSpot's guides hub for Baldur's Gate 3.
