Here's When Final Fantasy 15's Chapter 13 Update Arrives
Improvements to chapter 13 will be available alongside a new DLC episode.
Square Enix has confirmed the update for Final Fantasy XV's thirteenth chapter will be available from March 28. The announcement was made by game director Hajime Tabata during the latest Active Time Report stream, as reported by Gematsu.
Chapter 13 was the subject of much discussion in the time following Final Fantasy XV's launch as it shifted the game from open-world to linear format. Additionally, it seemed to gloss over a number of important narrative threads without explanation.
Although many speculated that Square Enix rushed this section of the game, Tabata previously said this was not the case. Nevertheless, he promised to address fan concerns.
"The direction of chapter 13's content was a deliberate decision made by the development team," he said. "That said, the amount of stress inflicted on the player while running through this chapter was greater than we had anticipated. We believe resolving this issue will naturally lead to a better gameplay experience."
The update update will be available alongside Episode Gladio, which is "an original episode that unfolds from the perspective of Gladio, who was not playable in the main story of Final Fantasy XV." It will have "fresh controls with Gladio-like action different from Noctis."
Square Enix has also confirmed an update for February 21 that includes a number of new features and content. It will introduce PS4 Pro support to allow the game to run at 60 frames per second, add limited time quests, raise the level cap to 120, increase the amount of photos you can take, and let you listen to music while riding Chocobos.
