Hitman 3 Will Release On PS5 Next Year, All Levels From First Two Games Are Supported
IO Interactive is bringing Hitman 3 to Sony's next-gen console in 2021.
A new Hitman game is coming to PlayStation 5. Sony announced during the PS5 reveal event today that IO Interactive's Hitman III will be released on the next-gen console in January 2021. You can watch the debut trailer below.
The game features Agent 47 taking part in his "most intimate and professional contract" ever. He will travel to places like Dubai, among others, to complete his contract.
IO Interactive also confirmed that Hitman III represents the final game in the World of Assassination trilogy. A teaser for the game states, "Death Awaits."
PS5's price and release date were unfortunately not announced during the reveal event.
A post on the PlayStation Blog confirms a few more details. Hitman III will also be released on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
"Hitman 3 will take you around the world to exotic and luxurious locations that are packed with creative opportunities," it reads. "Your ultimate goal is to explore these meticulously crafted locales and figure out exactly how you want to eliminate your targets. You’ll have complete freedom to take disguises, create 'accidents,' interact with other characters and blend into the crowd to watch your master plan unfold--or gloriously fail. That’s also part of the charm!"
In a post on its blog, IO Interactive added that Diana Burnwood and Lucas Grey will both return in a mission to hunt down the partners of Providence. It will not be an episodic game, with all six locations available from launch day. The first of these is Dubai. As with Hitman 2, you can import all levels from the previous games into Hitman 3, and the new progression systems will work across them all.
