Horizon Zero Dawn Day One Patch Detailed
The update adds performance upgrades and visual improvements.
Like a lot of other games, Killzone developer Guerrilla Games' soon-to-launch PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn will have a day one patch. It is a very small update, coming in at around 250 MB.
This update includes performance-based improvements on PS4 Pro and "higher visual fidelity" for both 4K and 1080p sets, according to patch notes posted by PlayStation Universe.
"Horizon Zero Dawn will receive a small day zero patch that will build upon PlayStation 4 Pro support, adding a Performance mode which will favor smoother framerates while delivering higher visual fidelity in the 1080p mode," Guerrilla said. "This mode is available for both 4K and 1080p displays."
Horizon Zero Dawn launches on February 28 in North America and March 1 in Europe. Reviews for the game have already come online, and the game is receiving a lot of praise. GameSpot's review scored it a 9/10.
Last week, Sony talked about how Zero Dawn has the potential to become a new franchise for the company. Additionally, Sony believes main character Aloy, who is inspired by the Game of Thrones character Ygritte, could become a "PlayStation icon of the future."
