The first trailer for the final season of House of Cards aired tonight during the 90th Academy Awards. The trailer shows a bustling White House, leading to the Oval Office. The door opens and we see someone behind the Resolute Desk.

It's revealed to be Claire Underwood (Robin Wright), who is now the President of the United States. "We're just getting started," she says from behind the desk. The tagline for the season appears to be "hail to the chief." Here's the trailer:

This trailer also confirms that House of Cards Season 6 will premiere this Fall. We don't know precisely when all the episodes will premiere, but it will be the show's final season.

House of Cards premiered in 2013 and kicked off Netflix's now-massive original programming lineup. The first seasons were generally well-received, but the later runs were not as well-liked, though the show remained popular regardless. After allegations of sexual misconduct came to light against lead actor Kevin Spacey, Netflix announced that the sixth season would be its last.

Spacey will not appear in the final House of Cards episodes. In addition to dropping him from House of Cards, Netflix canceled the Kevin Spacey movie Gore.
