How To Watch Wonder Woman 1984 Before It Leaves HBO Max On January 24

Wonder Woman 1984 is only available to stream on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and more via HBO Max for a few more days.

Wonder Woman 1984's time on HBO Max is coming to end this week. After debuting on HBO Max and in theaters December 25, the latest DC movie will leave the streaming service on January 24. If you're not an HBO Max subscriber, there's a great ongoing deal that lets you get six months of HBO Max for $70, which is a savings of about $20.

HBO Max is available to stream on a myriad of platforms, including Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, mobile, and video game consoles such as the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. HBO Max was just added to Roku recently, just in time for the release of Wonder Woman 1984.

GameSpot's managing editor of entertainment Michael Rougeau gave the film a 9/10 in our Wonder Woman 1984 review. "The message--that every individual person on the planet has a shared responsibility for the common good--gets slightly muddled in the end, but it's also the exact one we need right now," Rougeau wrote. "And Wonder Woman 1984 is the exact film you'll want to sit down and watch with family, friends, and loved ones this holiday--even if you're doing so over Zoom."

Wonder Woman 1984 is far from the only Warner Bros. film that will premiere on HBO Max alongside a theatrical release. Warner Bros. recently announced that every film it releases throughout 2021 will be available to stream for the first 31 days upon release on HBO Max. This will include upcoming films such as The Matrix 4, Dune, The Suicide Squad, Mortal Kombat, and Space Jam: A New Legacy. The Warner Bros. 2021 library alone arguably makes an HBO Max subscription worth it. We've been impressed by HBO Max since launch, and it earned a spot on our list of best streaming services.

Don't bother, save the 2+ hours. It kind of put a damper on an otherwise pleasant Xmas Day.

Half way in and pretty bad so far. SNL actors in half the major roles, cheesy 80’s vibe (I’m 49 so I can relate, but yikes). Gal Gadot is gorgeous, that’s the movies #1 plus. Not very compelling. I will finish it but that’s out of hope it gets better...

Everything I'm hearing about this movie suggests that it was a "woke" train wreck. Reportedly not as bad as "Captain Marvel", but also not particularly good.

@dzimm: Actually not overly woke and you really really really have to read into Pedro character to draw some slight comparison to he who shall not be named. Just a poor superhero movie and thats kind of the end of it.

@LethalBurst: Whats worse is they are taking the views as a success and have greenlit a 3rd one. Maybe 3rd time will be the charm? Not overly surprising but I would have at least tried to gauge reaction before going forward with a 3rd. Even the professional review scores have went way down since the initial early screenings.

It was kind of good and kind of cheesy, felt a little rushed to include things that were in the comics. I still don't understand why it's only available on HBOMax for 30 days though. They should at least include that information in their ads.

I'm in the middle of it right now, and it's not BAD so far, there's just kind of nothing interesting going on. Chris Pine, Gal Godot, Kristen Wiig, and Pedro Pascal are all just fine, but this movie isn't giving them anything real compelling to do. It's an hour an twenty minutes in and the movie is still setting up it's plot.

Chris Pine has been great though. And Gal Godot is way better when she's got him to play off. Honestly, I'd probably be happier if this movie was a sitcom where these characters are all co-workers. Like this movie, but it's Scrubs or something.

EDIT: Done now. You know what? I liked it. Sure, the story ended up just being lazy ***pulls and a really heavy handed, sappy message about how we can all choose to be better people, but the characters were all likable and it's got a feel good ending. Turns out dumb, feel good fun at the end of a pretty F'd up year is kinda nice. So, I don't know, 7/10, was worth the month's HBO Max sub.

Holy crap. This movie was awful. That was such a huge step back from the first one. Though I didn’t think the first one was amazing either, but it was significantly better than this one. This movie was just so damn bad. It was crazy boring. I drank two Red Bulls to stay awake. There was hardly any action, and the action that it did have was just so lame. She basically swung around the whole time and just threw people around with her lasso. They were some of the least entertaining fight scenes I’ve ever seen. The story was an absolute mess, and the bad guys were so weak. I won’t post any spoilers, other than to say that it’s a huge waste of time, and was about 40 minutes too long. This is a huge flop. Patty Jenkins just made a solid case for her being a one-hit wonder.

@justthetip: Agreed, this movie is awful and way too long. Stopped at 1:53 in and can't believe there's still a half hour left.

@justthetip: Agreed. I was bored the whole time watching. The story was weak. The action was lacking. The wish stone was lame. Overall not a very good movie. Dawn of Justice and Justice League were better than WW84 in my opinion.

@willow69: I didn’t even think of those other movies, but you’re absolutely right. That’s pretty bad.

Loved the first one and looked forward to seeing this one. Hated this one so very much. My daughter who loves all thing WW made it half way through and said BvS was better and she hates that movie lol. Did not find it preachy or anything that some said it might be. Just found it was a movie without identity. Parts were cheese goofy comic book, part was serious and semi dark and the other part was just all over the place.

@clawson34: Eeesh. If you can find a way to compare a movie negatively to BvS, said movie must be pretty bad. Guess I'll hold on on watching it, everything online so far indicates that it's not much worth the time.

@Keaze_: Even after all the "professional" reviewers were giving it overwhelming positive reviews and praising the actors. Generally I like Pedro and Kristen work but they were absolutely wrong in this one. Gal, well she is pretty and thats about all I can say. Its a shame that the post credit scene is best thing about the 2 1/2 hours and it sad that sites found the need to explain it significance to people.

This is an insanely good deal. I hope the other streamers follow suit. Especially while Covid is running rampant. I have HBO Max and it's a fantastic service. Now that WB has announced it's entire 2021 slate is also releasing FREE to HBO Max subscribers it's a no brainer. YES, I'd love to be able to watch Dune, Suicide Squad or WW84 on the big screen but I'm more than happy to watch them with family or mates on my huge ass flatscreen from the comfort of my castle. Do yourselves a favor and jump on HBO Max before the sub prices increase cause they're bound to. That's my 5c.
