September's Humble Choice lineup includes a Borderlands spin-off, a murder mystery, ancient history, and more.
The Humble Choice lineup for September 2023 is now live, and this month, there's a great selection of fantasy action, old-school detective work, and a spy thriller where you'll need to outfox your competition. Like usual, members of Humble Choice will be able to download and keep these games forever, even if they decide to cancel their subscription down the road. This effectively means you're buying a bundle of eight games for just 12 bucks, and the lineup includes multiple heavy hitters.
Humble Choice Collection September 2023
- Tiny Tina's Wonderlands: Chaotic Great Edition
- Deceive Inc.
- The Forgotten City
- Aces and Adventures
- Patch Quest
- Foretales
- Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?
- Autonauts vs. Piratebots
The highlight this month is Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, a spin-off from the Borderlands series that shifts the action from the far-flung reaches of outer space to the colorful realms of fantasy. Yes, it's Borderlands with a fully loaded magical twist, but it's a solid diversion featuring a cast of familiar faces waging war against nefarious forces led by an evil overlord voiced by Lego Batman himself, Will Arnett. Even better, this is the Chaotic Great Edition that expands on the original game with the Dragon Lord Pack--which adds plenty of cool customization options--the Season Pass, the Butt Stallion Pack, the Blightcaller class, and four extra dungeons with new bosses, loot, and environments.
Another game that you should check out from this pack is The Forgotten City, an indie hit with a surprising origin story. Originally a mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Forgotten City evolved into a standalone game where you explore an ancient Roman city on the Tiber River and have to figure out how to save the populace from being turned into statues by the power of the Golden Rule that's in effect.

Sticking with the theme of using your head to solve problems, you can also check out Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? This FMV whodunit tasks you with figuring out who poisoned your favorite uncle--played by Andy Buckley from The Office--from a cast of very likely suspects. Start with a dysfunctional family, throw in a novel video call format, and finish it off with some subtle interrogation, and you have a clever mystery to dive into.
The rest of this month's selection includes the strategic base-building game Autonauts vs. Piratebots, first-person spy shooter Deceive Inc., deckbuilding poker-RPG Aces and Adventures, rogue-lite bullet hell with a touch of monster-collecting in Patch Quest, and the fantasy "decksploration" game Foretales.
All eight games are available to download right now for Humble Choice members, and if you’re not already signed up, you can join Humble Choice for just $12/month. Along with the monthly free games, you also gain access to the rotating Humble Games Collection & Vault and extra discounts in Humble's online store.
