If Square Enix Designed Superman From BvS: Dawn of Justice
The $150 figure will be sold at New York Comic-Con in October and is available for preorder now.
Square Enix today revealed a black-and-white version of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Play Arts Kai figure for main character Superman. As Play Arts Kai figures go, this one is fairly normal-looking and does not deviate very far from Superman as he's seen in the movie and other places.
The chest piece and cape are made of flexible materials, allowing owners to recreate his iconic poses. You may also notice that the small Kryptonian insignia from BvS is etched into the waist of his suit. Additionally, there are a few accessories for the 10-inch unit, including interchangeable hands and a head that features a depiction of his heat vision.
"The black and white coloring evokes Superman's black and white film serials, while still highlighting the sleekness and dynamism of his modern design in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," reads a line from the figure's description. Priced at $150, the black-and-white figures are limited to 1,000 units. You can get one at New York Comic-Con in October or preorder it through the Square Enix online store right now. Units preordered through the online store will be shipped to your home starting at the end of November 2016, but cannot be picked up at NYCC.
The black-and-white Superman is just one of many Play Arts Kai figures that Square Enix made based on BvS. There are also black-and-white and armored Batman variants, as well as regular Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman figures. You can see all of them here on the Square Enix website.
