Infogrames announced on Wednesday that its latest PlayStation title, The Smurfs, has shipped to stores. The game, which is aptly geared toward younger gamers (ages five and up), has popular Smurf characters like Hefty Smurf, Papa Smurf, Smurfette, and others.

"The Smurfs is a perfect video game for the little brother or little sister looking to emulate their older siblings on the PlayStation," said Rick Reynolds, director of product marketing for Infogrames North America's Family Label. "The easy-to-learn controls, dynamic and vibrant environments, as well as parent-friendly gameplay make The Smurfs a hit this holiday season."

Developed by Heliovisions, The Smurfs will be available for about US$39.99.
