J-Phoenix 2 update
New character, maps, storyline to come with mech sequel, due to Japanese gamers in early 2004.
Takara has revealed some additional details surrounding its upcoming action game sequel, J-Phoenix 2, according to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine,
J-Phoenix 2 will feature a new main character, Bred Arrows, a rookie mech pilot. Together with his partners, Cleo and Bucks, Bred's objective is to ride on various mech prototypes in order to collect data for the development of an ultimate mech.
J-Phoenix 2's game's system will be inherited from the original title. The mech customization system is still present in J-Phoenix 2, and saved mech data from the original J-Phoenix can be carried over to the new game. J-Phoenix 2 will feature over 240 mission maps, with some of the most popular maps from the original J-Phoenix included.
J-Phoenix 2 is currently about 80 percent complete and is scheduled for release in February of 2004. Price will be 6,800 yen ($61) in Japan. Similar to J-Phoenix, and an upcoming trial edition of J-Phoenix 2, a free DVD containing an anime version of the series will be packed in.
