Jack Sparrow Fights The Undead In New Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 Trailer

Jack Sparrow has been away from screens for six years, but he returns this summer in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. A new trailer for the fifth movie in the blockbuster series has arrived--check it out below:

This follows last year's first teaser, plus the TV spot that was screened during the Super Bowl. A synopsis has also been released. It reads:

"Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea… including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas."

Dead Men Tell No Tales stars Johnny Depp as Sparrow and Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar. Geoffrey Rush plays Barbossa, while Orlando Bloom will also appear in the movie as Will Turner, making his first appearance in a Pirates movie since 2007's At World's End.

The Beatles singer Paul McCartney even apparently has a role in the movie, continuing the rock star trend that started with Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones appearing as Jack Sparrow's father in At World's End.

Dead Men Tell No Tales is directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg and hits theaters on May 26, 2017.
