Clancy Brown has joined the cast of John Wick: Chapter 4. As reported by Deadline, the Thor: Ragnarok and Mandalorian actor will join the cast of the Keanu Reeves-starring action sequel, which releases in May 2022.

Details of the character that Brown will play haven't been revealed yet. However, director Chad Stahelski released a statement, which reads, "I have been a fan of Clancy Brown's since I can remember. To have him be a part of this project is an honor. He will make a perfect addition to the World of John Wick!"

Brown himself later confirmed the news, with a tweet from the movie's set:

Brown performed the voice of the fire giant Surtur in Thor Ragnarok, a role he's set to reprise in the upcoming animated Marvel show What If, and the alien Burg in Season 1 of The Mandalorian. He recently appeared in the Oscar-winning Promising Young Woman and will play the main villain in the upcoming Dexter revival show, while his long filmography also includes The Shawshank Redemption, Highlander, Warcraft, Cowboys & Aliens, and Starship Troopers.

John Wick: Chapter 4 also stars Ian McShane, Donnie Yen, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, and Marko Zaror. It hits theaters on May 27, 2022.

There's also a John Wick spin-off titled The Continental on the way. While it was originally announced as a regular Starz TV series, last month it was reported that it will be a three-episode "event" series. Each installment will be about 90 minutes in length and carry a budget of $20 million or more. The Continental will be a '70s-set prequel focusing on the younger Winston, the enigmatic character played by Ian McShane in the movies.
