Jump Force Deluxe Edition Blasts Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch August 28
Manga icons from Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and more on Nintendo Switch will be ready to throw down on Nintendo Switch this Friday.
Massive manga crossover fighting game Jump Force finally has a date for its Nintendo Switch release, and you won't have long to wait before you can get your hands on it. Nintendo has announced that Bandai Namco's all-star roster of manga heavyweights will be out on August 28. The deluxe edition release will include characters from Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Saint Seiya, and several other iconic manga series.
The Switch version will include nine additional fighters from the first Character Pass, an offline battle mode for up to six players, and a local communication battle mode with two consoles connected. Players can also create their own avatar to use in Jump Force's story mode, joining forces with several heroes from the long-running Shonen Jump manga publication to save the day from villains who have begun attacking the planet.
In GameSpot's Jump Force review, critic Jordan Ramée praised the accessible nature of the game but felt that its story was lackluster. "Jump Force is a worthy celebration of the legacy of Shonen Jump manga, but it honors its source material a little too well with how filler-heavy the middle of its story arc is. However, even if the game rarely provides a clear motivation for stopping evil other than good must always oppose it, the act of stomping out villains in Jump Force's frantic bouts of tag-team arena combat is an enjoyable test of strategy."
A second Character Pass was recently announced by Bandai Namco, which will add characters from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, YuYu Hakusho and Hunter X Hunter to the Jump Force roster.
