KFC Opens A Location In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Those who can't get enough of KFC can now visit a virtual one in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Fans of the Colonel may be pleased to note that he's brought his signature chicken to everyone's new favorite island hangout. Yes, an official KFC location has opened in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
According to Ungeek, KFC Philippines and the company Ogilvy collaborated on a KFC pop-up in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It's more than just a drive-through with a glorified menu, though. This particular KFC location was assembled with care so that visitors could enjoy their meals in style.
We're talking a diner-style setup complete with booths, napkins, place settings, and the famous KFC buckets of chicken in the display. Patrons also appear to have the option of being served milkshakes or coffee to accompany their virtual meal.
On top of that, this virtual KFC in Animal Crossing: New Horizons also comes complete with a secret hidden area on the island--a place for the Colonel to store the brand's list of 11 secret herbs and pieces.
For a time, players who are able to visit this special island and who interact with the avatar playing Colonel Sanders will receive a code for an 8-piece bucket of KFC, redeemable back in the real world. This promotion is only available to players in the Phillippines. To participate, you will have to check the KFC Phillippines Facebook page for the island's Dodo code and get in line for your very own visit to this special location.
This definitely isn't KFC's first foray into the games space, however. There was a KFC visual novel that released to a bunch of chatter not long ago, and there's also been a recent announcement about something called the KFConsole. We'll leave that one for you to puzzle over.
