Embracer Group has faced struggles in recent years, shutting down multiple studios and failing to produce a game that’s both a commercial and critical success, but it seems that streak is over with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The game is rapidly approaching 2 million copies sold, according to Embracer, having sold 1 million copies in its first 24 hours. The game recently peaked at 250,000 concurrent users on Steam.

Developer Warhorse has big plans for future support for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The game already has several pieces of announced DLC, some of which were included in the Gold Edition. Following that, Warhorse announced its year-long roadmap for the game, with plans to keep supporting it for years.

"The success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a reminder of our core to bring great products to the market," said Embracer Co-founder and CEO Lars Wingefors on Thursday during the company's Q3 results (via VGC). The studio's previous title, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, received several years of updates and ports to new consoles, including a highly successful Nintendo Switch version.

"High-quality teams need to have the resources and the time to execute their visions," Wingefors added. "When you have the right teams, this trust benefits everyone, including gamers, employees, and shareholders. I am convinced that we will remain among the industry leaders in our core business verticals in the future."

As for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Warhorse Studios just announced yesterday that official mod support is coming to PC via Steamworks. Players can look forward to even more weird and wonderful mods for the RPG in the future.
