Kirby drives onto Euro VC

Two new titles for European Wii owners available this week, Kirby's Dream Course and Bloody Wolf.

This week sees two further games available for Europeans to download from Nintendo's Wii Virtual Console service. The first, Kirby's Dream Course, is a golf title and one of four Kirby games released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game, which was originally released in 1995, features 64 colourful courses and sees the hero Kirby use himself as the ball to smash his way through the numerous enemies and obstacles on each of the courses.

The second title up for grabs this week is the 1990 TurboGrafx-16 action game Bloody Wolf (also known as Battle Rangers). Gamers play a muscle-bound special forces commando on a mission behind enemy lines after the president is kidnapped. The game consists of eight levels, called "scenes," which the commando must progress through, each with a boss battle at the end.

Kirby's Dream Course is downloadable for 800 Wii Points (approximately £5.60) and Bloody Wolf for 600 Wii Points (£4.20).

Nooooo! I thought they were going to say Kirby Super Star! If that were to come out in Europe now then I know it would've been coming for the NA! Never played Kirby's Dream Course though... is it any good?

You'd think if Nintendo was going to keep releasing stuff that most people don't know that they'd release Crystalis already. :)

GrimBee > That's a complete rip-off of XBLMarketplace. Besides, they do give you a description of the game and all that, sans the good screenshots (they really suck at that). Next, its a business. Sure, you can get those games for cheaper prices elsewhere, but you can't be sure to get the best of quality. The VC basically gives you that, without the hassle of blowing the cartridge. I think its a steal for the prices they give. Kirby's Dream Course was so awesome. Can't wait to grab that one.

I'm only downloading the SNES games I already own (then selling the cartridges on Ebay), games I should have owned but didn't (Link to the Past) and games I did own but sold (my N64 games). Of course I dont buy games that I can get in a compilation (Capcom Classics Collection, Sonic Mega Collection).

I really wish that Nintendo would drop the price of VC games. Or at least have a "buy 3 for 1500 points" offer or something like that. I am really tempted to download some, or just add points to my wii with my credit card. But on the menu its like £50 only will get you a handful of games - which is a complete rip-off when you can buy games like sonic mega collection (etc, etc) on the gamecube for like £5 in stores. Plus, the whole virtual console menu is badly designed. I would like a mini-history when viewing games, proper screenshots, a nice background presentation and a biography of each game. Not just a little list with how many classic controllers (etc) that you need to play it. For the price, I would like the game to come with a history, biography and possibly if you could have a wii background for the main-menu... it would make the price more worthwhile. But just the game for like 800 points, its very expensive. I would like all games to be like 500 wii points, because by the time you get two 2000 point cards (over £35 worth) you can only download like 4 n64 games... £35 for 4 n64 games!? :(
