Konami Says Last-Minute PS Plus Change Was Sony's Decision

Other than the United States' recent infatuation with Women's League Soccer, the rest of the world can give two rat's feces about women's league. There's TONS more money in Men's League, and TONS more international interest.

I already beat Detroit become human so that sucks for me.

Who cares? Sony are garbage and the game is shite anyway.

To be fair it's one of the more worthwhile titles ever released through ps plus. Good move from Sony.

The plot thickens

I already own Detroit, so this was a bit of a letdown. That being said, I don’t really play soccer games. All the same, it seems shady... like EA might have either whined or made an offer of their own if Sony took it down.

I can tell you exactly what happened to cause the removal... EA pissed and moaned to Sony about it. They did it back during the original xbox days when Microsoft was making NFL Fever. EA whined and cried and threatened not to release Madden on Xbox anymore unless MS stopped making NFL Fever.

No doubt to me what happened. EA cried again and used sleazy tactics to block competition getting more exposure to those soccer fans who may never had played PES before but would have with it being free.

I call bluff. Its Soccer season right now. That would have been huge. Even though I'm a Fifa guy I wouldnt have minded getting my hands on PES. On a side note. If it was sony's decision to take it off the PS+ list then why doesn't Konami just step up for its fans and release it for free digitally on their own?

Sony did it because people were complaining about the PS Plus games for July. Personally, I was looking to PES 2019, but I’m not complaining for getting Detroit instead.

Works for me - I don't enjoy football games but have really been enjoying Detroit Becomes Human since downloading it yesterday.

PS. Just saw Wolfman152's comment and have to agree with some of it - I usually play on XBOX One but the free Detroit download encouraged me to boot up my PS4 for the first time in ages. It'll take more than one excellent free download to make a more permanent switch over, though.

Absolutely it was a great Decision!! I’m even wondering what’s this article is trying to address.

Believe or not, By Sony making the change to add Detroit Becomes Human a AAA single player campaign game it made me re-activate my PS PLUS subscription which I had not done in over nearly two years because I game mostly on my Xbox X.

These past few weeks Sony has re-assured me they truly care about their gaming audiences and with their directions with next-gen PS5 & Their commitment to HARDCORE GAMERS, and their focus on big budgeted AAA single player campaign games the company have WON me over from Xbox. I plan on switching my main gaming platform from Xbox X to PS5 once it’s available for Pre-order.

Thank You Sony for making this last minute switch on PS PLUS line up & adding Detroit Becomes Human. I’m back as a PS PLUS subscriber because of the change and a PS5 fanboy. Can’t wait to pre-order the system.

And what a great decision it was. Thank you SONY, finally I'll play my PS4 again, just because of Detroit Become Human.

Sony playstation is garbage anyway. Every single one of their exclusives are mediocre overrated one play bore fests.

Konami is garbage anyway, so two birds one stone. After finding out about how they treated and handled Hideo, it's hard to support them. Plus, they're pretty much invisible and dead now that MGS came to a close.

For me it was a bonus as I'm interested to play Detroit, but it's a shame because if you like football, give PES a go. It's a great game

Konami has went knuckle deep in the the Chinese mobile market 7-8 yrs ago and had to do a quick 180 as they found that market harder to turn a profit then they imagined. But they have been killing it with PES console titles (once decrying 8th gen gaming was dead and mobile was the future) and switch titles, also esports. So the big decision to only focus on mobile pre-8th gen really slowed the company down but they are now doing really well with the console market.

Should they have kept Hideo Kojima??? Yeah, I think so, the loss of momentum in consoles, bad pr with terrible working conditions actually cost the company money in the long run. They are doing well now, but could have been doing really well 4 yrs ago when there were close to 100million 8th gen consoles. They still have not re-listed back on the exchange and as a company still hate or shun console gaming - wanting to branch out into online gambling and mobile.

The asian developer slump/crash is no more and they are doing very well. I think 9th gen will be ever bigger and better for gamers.
