Konamistyle.com Plans DDR Arcade-Style Controller

Konamistyle.com, Konami's online retail site, has announced a new project called Konamistyle Custom Factory. The development of the project's first product, tentatively called the Dance Dance Revolution Arcade-Style Controller, is currently under way. The final product will likely have dimensions of 1.2m x 1.05m x 0.55m and will weigh approximately 25kg (one-quarter the weight of the arcade version). It will be made of stainless steel, and the buttons will light up just like the arcade version.

If users are interested in the product, they can visit the Japanese only Konamistyle web site and fill out a registration form between August 28 to September 30. Konamistyle.com plans to release the product to retail if at least 100 users register.

The Dance Dance Revolution Arcade-Style Controller is scheduled for a November release at a price of 193,000 yen (US$1,800). Monthly installment plans will be available when purchasing. The product is only available in Japan only.
