Last Chance For PS4's Free PS Plus Free Games Of September 2018

Killer value this month.

September is almost over, but PlayStation Plus members can still head to the PSN to pick up their free PS4, PS3, and PS Vita games. This month has some excellent games on offer, including most notably Destiny 2. God of War III Remastered is the other big PS4 game, though this month every game is playable on PS4 thanks to Cross Buy.

With the release of Forsaken, Destiny 2 gets its major year-two expansion. You don't get Forsaken with the free version of Destiny 2 for PS Plus members, but at least you can get your feet wet in the game and decide whether or not you want to buy the DLC. God of War III Remastered is the upscaled version of the epic PS3 brawler.

Moving down the line, PS3 owners can pick up the classic action platformer Another World - 20th Anniversary Edition, which lets you switch between the new and original graphics on the fly and adjust the difficulty settings. The other PS3 game is the first-person puzzle game QUBE Director's Cut. Vita owners can grab the puzzle game Sparkle 2 and the co-op brawler Foul Play.

We're not done yet. Sony is offering another pair of PS4 games for free to PS Plus members. You can grab download the smart phone-controlled trivia game Knowledge is Power between now and November 6 and the PSVR horror game Here They Lie through October 2.

Screw you Bungie!

I like many bought D2 @ release digital.

and stopped playing when the Eververse nonsense got outta control about 2-3 weeks B4

that 1sT Osiris DLC dropped..

NOW im curious about returning to the game only to find out that I haveta take it

w/ no va*ha*sa*lene(Flaming Lips ;)

***$60 is the cheapest way to return to D2..

But this option comes with a extra physical copy of the vanillas D2 game..

wow great,,i then have a useless game that nobody will want because just like D1 at the halfway point,

they pretty much give it away free.....

**This is too much of a FU to all the people who bought the game already...

Why are they so greedy? this is too much that I still haven't bought Forsake even though im wanting too...

& I promise im not into gaming-politics etc..

Yeah the Marty Odonell thing bothered me but not enough to not play the game...

But something about Bungie/Activision greed is excessive...

**Make a cheaper season pass with all content for people who own the game & i'll return.

@boardsport311: I constantly struggle to find any game worth a dmn on the Vita..

Binding of Isaac & Neon Chrome are the only two games I can kinda enjoy..

but what else ya recommend bs311.

@sippio: Hah right on, I haven’t seen em for a few years but one of my all time favorite bands for sure.

I mainly use my Vita as an indie machine and try to go for titles that are cross buy/cross save. Some of my favorites are Axiom Verge, Shovel Knight, Skyforce Anniversary, Sound Shapes, Titan Souls, Darkest Dungeon, Resogun, Guacamelee, Limbo and Dead Nation.

Also want to eventually get Stardew Valley, Fez, Spelunky, Steamworld Dig 2, Salt and Sanctuary, Undertale, Bastion and if it ever comes to Vita, Hollow Knight.

For AAA Vita I love the Rayman games, Littlebigplanet, Ninja Gaiden and Injustice/Mortal Kombat.

Hopefully that helps give you some ideas.

The article says Forsaken isn't free, but it seemingly was for me. Like someone else said, you had to download Destiny right off the bat, but the first thing that downloaded was Forsaken. I'd think that maybe it was mistake with the picture they're using, but that downloaded fairly quickly while the full game is taking a long time. I've never played this franchise before, so if I happened to luck my way into a free expansion, I'm pretty happy.

* I reinstalled D2 last night & saw the Forsaken picture and didn't smile for 1 sec..

instead was aggravated because I know they are gonna rip us all off...

$60 is the cheapest ive seen to return & get Forsaken and the other crap....

This company is as grimy as it gets.. Shouldn't they just charger us $30 for a complete pass & that be that?!!

I miss Destinys awesome mechanics just like all of us who played & quit... but we all know the greed this time is extreme/excessive and I feel like im being taken advantage of...

*people try to compare it to a MMO to justify the $120.. but a MMO has 75% more content....

Bungie screwed up because they are treating developing as a business model instead of just create awesome game with awesome story....Look how awful the story has been compaired to the potential of it all...

QUBE is not even on the PSN store anymore. And it's not letting me download Knowledge is Power despite it being listed as free. Says I'm not allowed to purchase this.

For Destiny 2, just note that you can't add it to your library like every other PS plus game....you actually have to download it. First free game that I've ever seen do that. Bungie, you're not worth the hard drive space. Pass.

@drysprocket: on the psn website (via web browser) you can add the game to your cart and checkout. no need to download any ps plus game to later have it in your inventory.

Good month! But...

I can't get QUBE PS4 for free in the store, even though it's supposed to be cross buy (the official PS blog even says so). Anyone else seeing that? I was looking forward to that one.

@axiomatiq: Someone on the Sony blog figured it out! You have to buy the PS3 version, and then both versions will appear in your download queue. Super dumb, but it works. Sony needs to fix that. @drysprocket@dunk_420

Even though pretty much everyone and their brother now has Destiny 2 it's still a great gesture to release such a big name AAA title as a "free" game for PS plus subscribers. It also will probably serve as great marketing for the new Destiny upcoming release.

God of War 3 remaster is also another great feather in PS Plus members hats and one that ties in nicely to Santa Monica Studio's masterpiece in their latest installment.

All in all, it would appear that it's a pretty good month to be a PS plus member.
