The Gears of War 4 beta is coming to Xbox One in spring 2016 and if you want to play as soon as possible, there are only a few hours left to make sure you've met the requirement. As Microsoft announced previously, everyone who plays Gears of War Ultimate Edition while signed into Xbox Live by March 1 will receive "early access" to Gears of War 4's upcoming beta. It's February 29, so you don't have much longer to sign in and play.

There is no word yet regarding what the Gears of War 4 beta will entail, though considering it's starting in the upcoming months, we'd expect to learn more soon.

The full Gears of War 4 is due out this fall, a release window it shifted to from holiday 2016. We still don't know much about the game at all, though Xbox executive Phil Spencer recently saw the game and reported that it's making "stunning" progress.

In other recent news, producer Rod Fergusson said Gears of War 4 would be a "graphical showcase" for Xbox One.

"Like how the original Gears of War was a visual showcase for the Xbox 360, Gears of War 4 will be a graphical showcase for the Xbox One," Fergusson said.

Additionally, Gears of War Ultimate Edition is coming to PC this year, though a release date has not been announced. You can see the game's system requirements here.

@silversix_: Way off, kid... Ever since Back-Compat launched, the Gears3 MP community is alive and well. THOUSANDS of games going last weekend -- I was actually shocked to see the numbers myself, although my crew & I have been playing both MP and Campaign-Arcade regularly again.

Simply PERFECT combat mechanics, fluid MP, solid balancing, and NO MICROTRANSACTIONS to diminish the game whatsoever. In Gears 3 (and even its "expansion MP", Judgment ;) ), your skill is the only thing separating you from the other players.

Oh, and the reason why the entire industry casually refers to their PVE as "Horde" mode is because of Gears 3. ...STILL the absolute best example of the style (Warframe's a close 2nd at times).

@silversix_: No it isn't. It still has the best third person mechanics.

Some games, just like Uncharted are. At least Naughty Dog will put an end on it, as its repetitive and cliche compilation story is always predictable. The developer knows that and is just milking a litte bit more. What can we expect for Uncharted 4? Falling and saved by somebody's hand, a car jumping near a waterfall, some action inside a vehicle (not a train or plane this time), Adam Sandler's humor and the old action formula (run, cover, jump, punch, shoot...and repeat).

@Zicoroen: Woah Woah Woah...so aliens attacking mankind isn't cliche? I like Gears just like the next person, but dissing Uncharted is uncalled for, especially since Uncharted comes with a deeper narrative than Gears AND platforming.

Uncharted (run, cover, jump, punch, climb, swing, drive, shoot...repeat)

Gears (run, cover, shoot..repeat)

Even if you add chainsawing, you're still doing a whole lot more in Uncharted

@louixiii: Day one and I played religiously for like a month after. I contacted Xbox Support last month and they said they are looking into it. Still waiting but now I doubt I'll ever get them.
