Last Chance to Play Overwatch's Summer Games Event
Play now while you still can.
With the real-world Summer Olympics now over, Overwatch's Summer Games event is also wrapping up, but it's not too late to participate. The Summer Games event, Overwatch's first seasonal offering, ends today, August 23, at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET, Blizzard announced in a forum post.
After that time, all Summer Games-specific content, such as loot boxes, cosmetic items, and the soccer-style Lucioball mode, will be pulled down. If you acquired a Summer Games loot box but haven't opened it yet, there is no timeframe for when you need to do so to get the items, thankfully. However, all loot boxes earned or purchased after the Summer Games event wraps up will yield standard items only.
"We hope you've enjoyed the Summer Games, and we're looking forward to the future of seasonal events like this," Blizzard said. "Thank you for all of the feedback you've provided us, and we hope to keep improving season after season."
No new Overwatch seasonal events have been announced, but you can be sure we'll bring you all the details as they're divulged.
