Preorder Mass Effect: Legendary Edition at GameStop, and you'll get this exclusive poster to hang on your wall. If you order online, you'll need to bring your order confirmation page to your local store to receive the bonus; the listing suggests calling ahead of time to confirm availability.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will surely help fans endure the wait for the next mainline Mass Effect game. Announced during The Game Awards 2020 with a brief teaser trailer, the new entry in the series doesn't have a title just yet. No release window has been revealed, but BioWare is also working on Anthem and Dragon Age 4, so it's unlikely it'll release anytime soon.

I would consider going through all of it again if they kept the weapons system the same. It made total sense that you would want a weapon that uses clips. It made combat tactical. When it just became COD in space, a lot of the classes became useless.

@Radar: Thermal clips are what made it COD( more of a watered down Gears) in space. They also make no sense in a squad based combat where weapon cool down is less than the time of overlapping fire between squad mates. Weapon cool down measured in seconds vs thermal clip cool down measured in hours or more (based on the fact you can't wait for them to cool down in game). Infinite ammo > than finite ammo.

@Dudeman315: That's exactly what I am saying. We are in total agreement. And they give the BS reason that more rounds downrange is better. Which only applies if you have an infinite amount of rounds.

Having played my X360 copies about a hundred times, I'm excited to play this on PS4. The ME trilogy is a series I can play forever and love every second of it. Don't care if the game just runs smoother and looks prettier, I'm ready to dive into it. Shepard with his Turian bromance and his Asari romance.

Y'all joke, but I'm dying to play this on PS4. And while I have most DLC, I don't have all of it, so there's still some new stuff for me. Part of me wants to blow that stimulus cash on a preorder, but the other part of me says to wait a few months for a price drop. This is my most anticipated game(s) this year, since there's still radio silence for the Digimon game.

Edit: Why no upvotes...?

Oh, wow. Finally I can preorder the collection months before its launch through Gamespot's affiliate links. The only reason why they've posted this "news article". But I guess folks who love to preorder stuff months in advance for no reason will appreciate it.

I find it suspicious that they haven't revealed any footage yet and the release is supposedly just a couple months away. Also dunno why anyone would preorder without a bonus incentive.

@mooglestar: Okay, we're not talking Cyberpunk, here. It's a complete game from last gen.

@mooglestar: But it's also three complete games + a ton of DLC, for the price of a single base game. It's not like you're getting ripped off.

@moonwatcher99: True, you're not getting ripped off, but depending on your situation it may still not be enough to warrant the purchase. In my case I already own the previous three-in-one collection, in addition to Mass Effect 2 as a standalone game (since on PS3 that came out first). And I've beaten them all numerous times. So for me I really do need a significant upgrade.

@mooglestar: I'm just pointing out, there's not really any reason to complain about the set. It's a good offer, it just might not appeal to your situation. I personally know someone who played the game on last gen, but didn't buy a single DLC. I can guarantee he'll be jumping for this one. I'll grab it just for the visual upgrade, and if there's anything else I'll consider it gravy.

@moonwatcher99: I'd love nothing more than to be blown away by the remaster and play the games again. Especially ME2 as that's one of my favourite games of all time. If they make it compelling enough I'd gladly give them $60. Time will tell.

And hopefully a trailer soon, with gameplay and details. That would help.

You should never preorder games but preordering the digital edition of a game is just plain stupid. There is no reason not to wait and check out the reviews first.

@Barighm: "tend to" but not always. I often like to play my games at midnight when they come out as I'm a night person. Reviews usually come out days before, not sure what I gain from waiting days after. I watch a couple gameplay clips and decide if I want the game based on that usually. I own thousands of games and the most recent game I had that I was like "this was a mistake" was Tekken for the 3DS. Reviews also don't help that much. Some times they shit all over games I really enjoy, some times they praise games I couldn't care less about.

It's really weird that they won't include the multiplayer. EA likes money and apparently ME3 is still generating some, so imagine if it got a current gen refresh, and they can just use the servers for Andromeda (they clearly don't give a damn about supporting that game anymore).

ME is 100% my favorite game series of all time. I've probably finished all three games five times each, and I've invested hundreds or thousands of hours over the years. This is also something I've desperately wanted.

...but I'll be DAMNED if I pre-order this. You have to be kidding. Bioware hasn't even actually announced what the scope of the remasters really are. All we really know is that it's all the DLC, no multiplayer from 3, and 4k textures/updates.

That's not what I'm in the market to pay 60 dollars for, and frankly it's yet another insult after the dual travesties of Andromeda/Anthem. This could have been the mea culpa of all mea culpas. It was basically an excuse to just print money. But I won't spend a single dollar until I see it running and I know PRECISELY what the hell I'm buying.

Cool, I've wanted to play the trilogy again, but it's a mess of DLCs, online passes (remember those?) and clients to sort out to get all the relevant story content.

But seriously, they can keep the next Mass Effect; the series died in 3 and Andromeda was not only a technical mess, I couldn't get myself to care about the characters or the setting, and more importantly, it just highlighted how stupid the rationale of the Reapers was and by extension, how absolutely bad ME3's story was.

@cottonfly: it's mass effect 1-3 for 60 bucks. That's good enough for my pre order.

@skyhighgam3r: If I already didn't own the games, I would totally agree. It's definitely worth that for someone who hasn't played them. For me though I want to see how much better it looks, if it even does look that much better. None of the latest remastered PC games have impressed me enough to get them instead of playing the originals.

@cottonfly: Seriously. One would think people learned from the various pre-order debacles like Cyberpunk... that maybe waiting for release and system-wide reviews is the way to go.

No preorder bonuses have been revealed, and it's unknown if EA will release any editions beyond the standard $60 version.

Of course they will. They will go the same route as for ME2-3, cause they love $$. Additional 30 bucks for From Ashes DLC!!!!!!
