Latest 3DS update brings Miiverse and unified accounts
3DS and Wii U now able to share a single Nintendo Network ID account, and handheld now able to access Miiverse.
Nintendo's latest 3DS system update unifies the 3DS eShop with the Wii U's Nintendo Network ID, meaning that users can now have one login across both platforms.
Users who login to the same account on Wii U and 3DS will be able to combine their Nintendo eShop balances and wish lists, Nintendo adds.
3DS system software version 7.0.0 also brings the Miiverse to 3DS, which is Nintendo's online community tool that it introduced with the Wii U. Users are able to launch and interact with Miiverse on the 3DS without closing their current game.
Nintendo has also launched Miiverse communities for 3DS titles, including Pokemon X and Y, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Alongside accessing the Miiverse on 3DS, Wii U, and online, Nintendo is also working on mobile versions of the app. The 3DS 7.0.0 update also removes the limit on 3DS system transfers, which previously was locked at a maximum of 5.
