Latest Game of Thrones Season Six Promo Showcases Action and Spectacle
The Wait Is Over.
The sixth season of Game of Thrones finally returns to HBO this coming weekend. Most of the teasers released so far have focused upon the characters, but the latest promo reveals some of the spectacular action that fans can expect. Check it out below:
With only two--potentially shorter--seasons remaining after this one finishes, George RR Martin, author of the books on which the series is based, has revealed that he would be open to a spinoff show.
"There is certainly no lack of material," Martin told EW. "Every episode of The Naked City--one of the television shows I watched as a kid--ended with a voice-over: 'There are eight million stories in the naked city. This has been one of them.'
"There are eight million stories in Westeros as well.. and even more in Essos and the lands beyond. A whole world full of stories, waiting to be told... if indeed HBO is interested."
Last week it was reported that only 13 episodes of the fantasy hit might remain after this latest season finishes. David Benioff and DB Weiss had previously stated that they intended to end the show with season eight, and told Variety that final two seasons might be somewhat shorter than previous ones.
"I think we're down to our final 13 episodes after this season. We're heading into the final lap," Benioff said. "That's the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, but that's what we're looking at."
Game of Thrones season six debuts on HBO on April 24.
