There is no villain more powerful in the X-Men universe than Apocalypse, the godlike being with incredible destructive powers. That's who the mutant superheroes will face in their latest movie, and this new featurette for X-Men: Apocalypse reveals more about the character. Check it out below:

This is the latest in a series of promos for the upcoming movie. Last week, the final full trailer revealed the return of Wolverine, while this viral teaser took a stylish retro approach.

Apocalypse is played by Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Oscar Isaac. In an interview with The Playlist last year, Isaac explained what drew him to roles in big fantasy movies such as these. "With X-Men, it was great because there's an embodiment of such big ideas, you're not working in the realm of naturalism," he explained. "And just because something's natural doesn't mean that it's interesting.

"Sometimes it's fun to push performance into other places that is not just about the same kind of verité thing. You have these forms that express more than just an individual's personality."

X-Men: Apocalypse is directed by Bryan Singer and arrives on May 27, 2016. It also stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne.
