League of Legends dev opens NYC office
Riot Games opens new 6,000 square foot outfit in New York City; will pay $240,000 per year for rent.
League of Legends developer Riot Games has opened an office in New York City.
The real estate transaction was revealed by The New York Times, which reports Riot Games has committed to a five-year lease with an annual rent of $240,000.
The office space is just under 6,000 square feet and is located in a 12-story 1916 building. It is located at 49 West 23rd Street (between Fifth Avenue and Avenue of the Americas).
A Riot Games representative told GameSpot that the new office space will be staffed by employees working on eSports broadcasting and content.
"We've already got a handful of people in NYC supporting eSports broadcasting and content, and this office is going to be more permanent space for that team to continue to do their eSports thing," the company said.
Riot Games is headquartered in Santa Monica, California. The company has other North American offices in Saint Louis, Missouri and Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as international studios in Dublin, Seoul, Istanbul, Moscow, and Sydney.
