Leaked Ubisoft PvP Game "BattleCat" Combines Splinter Cell, Division, And Ghost Recon - Report

The leaked game BattleCat combines Splinter Cell, Division, and Breakpoint into a single multiplayer PvP game.

A new Ubisoft multiplayer PvP game combining multiple Tom Clancy titles named BattleCat has been leaked. As reported by VGC, Twitter user Zer0Bytes put up a series of internal images from the game that have since been deleted, with VGC confirming that the images were real and for the in-development first-person shooter BattleCat coming to consoles and PC.

The game reportedly combines Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, and Division games into a single Tom Clancy-inspired PvP shooter. The leaked images included playable characters from Splinter Cell's Echelon, Breakpoint's Wolves, and The Divisions Cleaners and Outcasts. Each class would have its own unique regular and ultimate abilities, like the Outcasts' Divine Intervention, which would prevent nearby friendly players from dying for a short time.

Now Playing: Rainbow Six Extraction - Official Title Reveal Trailer

The leak included two game modes: Escort and Ringleader. Escort requires attackers to guide a package to a delivery zone with the defenders trying to stop it, similar to Overwatch's Payload game type. Ringleader has players trying to collect rings dropped by defeated players, similar to Call of Duty's Kill Confirmed mode.

According to VGC, BattleCat' is very early in development and will not be making an appearance at Ubisoft Forward on June 12. Ubisoft has combined multiple Tom Clancy titles previously with the mobile game Tom Clancy's Elite Squad, which was the subject of controversy for using the Black Lives Matter raised fist image for the game's terrorist group.

As with any leak, it is important to note that the game could change drastically during development and that some information could be out of date or inaccurate.

Ubisoft has said to expect some surprises at its presentation during E3 2021, including some information about the newly renamed Rainbow Six Extraction. The company has also said that both The Division and Prince of Persia will not be at the presentation.

Dammit, just give us what we really want. A new Splinter Cell game. Is that too much to ask for Ubisoft? Bad enough they turned R6 from a story driven tactical FPS into an eSports game full of 12 year olds and now they announce this crap. When the hell are we going to get some quality Tom Clancy games again if ever?!

Another Ubisoft game I won’t be playing. They used to fill a large percentage of my current playlist. I think Blacklist was the last game of theirs I bought the day it released. I’m just not part of their target demographic anymore I guess.

I hear ya. They'd rather cater to the Fortnite/esports crowd with the attention span of a gnat than anyone who actually appreciates a good tactical shooter or stealth game these days. Seriously, F Ubisoft.

Sounds like more Ubisoft trash. The TomClancy series used to be so authentic and unique. What a shame. We will never have games like the original GhostRecon or RainbowSix3 ever again :(

Just make another standalone single player Splinter Cell game FFS! How hard can it be? Ubi are hell bent on turning everything into either an online ecosystem or another huge open world game.

Yes, but where are the BattleCats? Can't just be slinging He-Man IP without showing the goods.

Please don't call attention to the leaker.

It's already bad enough with the news regurgitation (VGC itself could barely be said to have done a "report" if some rando on Twitter "broke the news.")

Oooooh. Another PvP shooter "live service" game! I can't wait! There's only, what? 200 of them already so, yeah, there's always room for more!

(Yes, there is a /s here.)

No, seriously though, it sadly makes sense. After all, from their perspective, it's probably not a bad move for them. I mean, at least in a "live service" game folks don't mind the countless MTXs like they do in the single player ones. ;)

Can we just get another splinter cell, Prince of Persia? Please!?

It's crazy how much a developer can ignore what the fans want. Just to chase fades, pipedreams, and hair brain schemes.

@illegal_peanut: They are hell bent on giving the middle finger to the Clancy fans at this point I swear. All we want is a new Splinter Cell and an actual GOOD Ghost Recon game. But no, Ubi isn't interested in that.

@magnificent7: That's because a good Clancy game, isn't going to be a buggy massive Sandbox or Multiplayer game. Which at this point is a Ubisoft Sin to not make a game an open-world sandbox. This is sad because a crap ton of their best games weren't massive open worlds.

@illegal_peanut: thing is we all want different. when people say splinter cell some mean the original (which was the most l/s hc game) some mean chaos theory as the most amazing stealth game ever, some mean conviction (which was *shrugs*) and some even mean blacklist or something entirely different.

ubi knows at best they fan make 30% of the fanbase happy. and even them its small compared to the grindy mmo microtransaction fanbase.

if they planned to make blacklist 2 i just rather see them forget it and make some trash like this.

@PrpleTrtleBuBum: As far as Splinter Cell goes, something along the lines of Chaos Theory meets Blacklist to an extent would be fine with me as long as they polish the living crap out of it and make it accessible for everyone but not super easy either. Love both of those games and still play them occasionally. Just wish the Ghost Recon series hadn't taken such a nosedive with Breakpoint. No matter how much damage control they do with that game it still sucks IMO. I would also love a new R6 game that had a dedicated single player mode with a good story and such along with MP, not just solely MP like Siege which I got sick and tired of real quick.

This developer is more lost than Konami. Completely clueless at how a video game is supposed to be.

This not what we want, Ubi doesn’t understand their fan base. We want a new Splinter Cell and a new PoP.

You feel like? lol look at the last ghost recon. Did that look like a ghost recon game to you? This dev is as out of touch as you will find in the gaming industry. Completely clueless at what made their games so successful over 10 years ago.

@hardwenzen: Breakpoint is so beyond fixing. Every time they try to update it with some new feature it seems to get worse for some reason. I just gave up on it finally and moved on.
