Now Playing: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 Gameplay Trailer | Nintendo E3 2021

The Breath of the Wild sequel was first announced during E3 2019, and Nintendo has been teasing a darker tone for the game, which the new trailer at E3 2021 seems to tally with. It has also been discovered that playing the music from the trailer backwards gives you the original Breath of the Wild theme music. Check it out:

If you're interested in securing your copy early, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 preorders have gone live at some stores, but only for the $60 standard edition.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series, and Nintendo has a few releases lined up to celebrate. The HD remaster of Wii's Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword launches on Switch on July 16.

During its E3 2021 Direct, Nintendo also revealed a new Legend of Zelda Game & Watch system at E3 that comes with three games and releases in November. Additionally, Nintendo announced that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity's Pulse of the Ancients DLC will launch June 18.

If BOTW2 does the same breaking weapon system as BOTW did then it's instantly a hard pass from me just like BOTW was. Inventory management, constantly juggling out weapons is not even remotely fun for me.

@Roman217: yeah it was definitely a less fun part of the game, just like waiting for powers to recharge before big fights

Looks good.

I'm kinda bummed that they didn't do the rumored 3D Zelda pack to match the Mario 3D All Stars for the 35th though. Just a Game and Watch.

Oh well.

@dlist4ever:This is why no one should ever pin their hopes based on rumors. If the company themselves says so, it's fine, but a random nobody with no source, that is not fine at all and should be forever ignored. It's like the rumored switch pro; it is not real and people need to stop spreading false information. (looking at fake news bloomberg)

It seems that the upcoming game will be a cross between Breath of the Wild and Skyward Sword?

@onesiphorus:The release timing of Skyward Sword HD itself was a humongous hint as it was. I figured this was going to happen in some way, not 'exactly' how, just suspected BotW2 would have some to do with SS, and lo and behold.

Was looking pretty dire for Nintendo but in good old Nintendo fashion they save the big guns for the end.

2022 can't come soon enough!
