A new Super Mario Lego set featuring one of Mario's most well-known enemies has arrived. The 540-piece Piranha Plant Lego model features posable elements--like a mount that can open and close and a bendable vine and leaves--and sits in a green pipe just like in the games. The Piranha Plant set launched on November 6 and is currently only available to order directly from the Lego Store.

Heads up: The set is on backorder right now. Lego says orders placed now will ship in 60 days. That's a long wait, but it's certainly possible all of the backordered units will be spoken for soon, so you should probably snag one if interested.

Rather than the Lego Super Mario play sets that include interactive gameplay elements and simpler pieces, the Lego Piranha Plant is a more complex set intended for display. However, at just $60, it's also much more affordable than other large-scale Super Mario Lego sets like the Mighty Bowser model or the Nintendo Entertainment System Kit featuring Super Mario Bros.

Plenty of other Super Mario kits are available at Lego's online store, including notable sets like the Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block. A few of the playsets are discounted as well. Big Spike's Cloudtop Challenge Expansion Set is down to just $56 (normally $70), the Reznor Knockdown Expansion Set is just $49 (normally $70), and the Goomba's Shoe Expansion Set is $8 (normally $10). These expansion kits add additional interactivity and gameplay elements to Lego Super Mario Starter kits like the $60 Adventures with Mario Starter Course,
