Limbo headed for PS3, PC
Playdead confirms last year's standout Summer of Arcade platformer coming soon to Steam and PlayStation Network.
Yesterday, the Korean Game Rating Board all but confirmed that last year's Xbox Live Summer of Arcade standout Limbo would find its way to the PlayStation 3. Today, developer Playdead updated the game's website to confirm the news and also noted that the puzzling platformer would be released on Steam.
Limbo put players in the shoes of a small child who must find his way through a black-and-white world filled with puzzles and dangerous, often deadly obstacles. The game won critical acclaim upon release, which was followed by a small avalanche of award nominations that yielded multiple Interactive Achievement Awards and a Game Developers Choice Award.
This is not the first time a Summer of Arcade hit's PS3 migration has been leaked by a foreign ratings board. The German rating body Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK) leaked word of Braid's PS3 port in August of 2009. The time-manipulating 2D platformer launched on Sony's downloadable service three months later.
