Linkin Park Will Close Out BlizzCon 2015 With a "Killer Rock Show"

Hybrid Theory was released 15 years ago this week.

Grammy-winning rock band Linkin Park will perform at BlizzCon 2015 in November to close out the developer's annual two-day gaming event in southern California. Tickets to the show itself are sold out, but you can still buy a $40 BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, which includes an HD stream of the concert.

"Playing BlizzCon will be one hell of a first for us," lead singer Chester Bennington said in a statement. "We're looking forward to giving all the gamers out there a killer rock show."

This is Linkin Park's first performance at BlizzCon, but the band is no stranger to video games. Earlier this month, the band's subsidiary Machine Shop Ventures was part of the investment group that purchased League of Legends squad Team-8. Before that, the band made its own video game to promote an album.

BlizzCon 2015 runs November 6-7 at the Anaheim Convention Center. GameSpot will have a team on the ground to bring you all the news as it happens.

The Linkin Park concert will take place the evening of November 7. In past years, the Saturday evening concert has included some huge names, including Foo Fighters, The Offspring, and Ozzy Osbourne.

Linkin Park's landmark album, Hybrid Theory, celebrates its 15th anniversary this week. Bet that makes you feel old. The band is currently in the studio recording its seventh album.

Linkin Park and "killer rock" haven't been together in the same sentence for years.

Their new stuff is such a load of shit.

Eh... After they changed their sound from the second album onward, the quality of their music went downhill.
Same thing happened to Korn. Korn isn't Korn. Not after Head left.

Like Disturbed, these guys made a sound that was new at first but completely dated and copied by too many other new bands to be relevant anymore.

I used to really enjoy Linkin Park. And their show could be good. But I have really hated their last few albums (to the point the last 1-2 I have not even given a chance). So I am hoping they focus on material from their first 2-3 albums, but I really don't see that being the case.

That's your band, Chester. Stay there. Stone Temple Pilots is not for you.

What lyrics are more appropriate for an MMO than:

"I tried so hard

And got so far

But in the end

It doesn't even matter"

Was a big fan of theirs back in the day, saw them live in Toronto in 2008. Awesome band.

Honestly, Tenacious D was the best concert they had so far, IMO. They fit perfectly with the overall absurdity of Blizzcon. I heard Ozzy was good. I actually skipped Metallica last year because I had my 9 year old daughter with me, but I heard they were pretty good too.

I've heard of Linkin Park, but I honestly couldn't name a single song or album of theirs, so I can't say if this should be a good show or not.
