Me think this could be a good reboot for Modnation , I neve like the style and controls. and what is wrong with Sony copying Mario (that if it was copying) Super smash Sony would be great btw.

Why wouldn't Sony do this? They copied the trophies idea from Xbox Live achievments, they also copied the hd wii knockoff move from the wii-mote. This is just a knockoff of Mario Kart. Modnation was about customization. Creating Characters, Karts and Track. But What everybody is forgetting is that LBP is about "Game Creation" You'll be able to create "Any" type of Kart game. Demolition Derby, Dirt Rally, Speed Boat, Indy, Create tracks of slippery glass, bouncy rubber, or float . LBP is always been about imagination. What LBP did for platformers. LBP Kart will do more for kart racing.

I thought this game was already released and called ModNation Racers.

much better ip to work with then mod nation.... this might work out for them and hopefully for us as well. i've actually been waiting for Sony to release a kart racer

Uhm I don't get it, you can pretty much do whatever you want in LBP, even kart racing levels, maybe not that great, but still ...Doesn't really mean I'm not thinking about getting this xD

LBP Vita looks good. Hopefully I'll end up getting one soon enough.

I will wait until more info about it to make my judgement all we know is that someone is making a lbp cart racing game for the ps3 and that is it and we don't know nothing about it

Funny how most people here don't know that there's official Sackboy DLC for ModNation, the voucher for it just wasn't included with their copy of the game. Now that I think about it, there would be differences between the structure, gameplay, art style and presentation aspects of LBP Racing and ModNation. I wonder if you'll be able to import costumes from LBP1 and 2, like with LBP Vita.

For me it is a dumb idea that will fail, if it's a dull game that is. Ps3 has Mod already, i doubt people will buy it just because of sackboy.

I personally Don't classify games like MNR & LBP as hardcore games if u do thats fine more power to u but I've played both and to me they were uninteresting. your whole comment was rather pointless u didn't have to bite my head just because I said that LBP & MNR weren't hardcore it makes u seem immature and makes it seem like both games really are little kids games being defended by a little kid on the internet

@Sepewrath First off who said anything about Gears of War 2nd of all what I meant by hardcore gamer is I like to play more adult oriented games and I'm not into kids games. I didn't mean to offend anyone who plays the game it's just not for me.

A seperate game or dlc would be a waste if it was a game make it as an add on for either lbp or mod nation

I'm not complaining, but isn't that what ModNation Racer is? A LBP racer? Anywho, it looks interesting.

@Marky360 Your not a hardcore gamer because you play Gears of War. A gamer plays solid games, it doesn't matter what the rating on the box is. If you care about nonsense like that, then I would say it would be too much of a compliment to call you a "casual gamer"

I dont understand why they would waste the money to reprint the label on Modnation Racers...

i was kinda hoping that this would be a DLC for LBP2

I agree, I only tried the demo and while I was intrigued by its features, the racing itself really put me off. Just like you have GTA(IV)-players who only go crazy with the mods and don't even properly play the game. Gameplay and the experience of it is important too.

The irony of this is LBP is about "Creating, Sharing, and Playing," and Sony's new policies aren't about all of those things.

Was this really necessary? You can make a carting game in LBP2.

What do you mean by "hardcore gamer"?? That you play games with harsher content like that in shooters such as COD and all that kind of stuff? If you have to use titles, I'd consider myself a "hardcore gamer" because I play many great games, including 'LittleBigPlanet'. @FatmanAB - Whilst CTR is still to this day the greatest kart racer ever made, you couldn't be more wrong that it's the only kart racer to compete with Mario Kart. At least in terms of quality. Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing and Modnation Racers are both better kart racers than Mario Kart Wii imo. Sadly in this generation if a kart racer doesn't have Mario Kart in the name people will just assume it isn't as good as MK without even bothering to try it.

lolwut Ever since I played LittleBigPlanet, I said it's like what Mario is to Nintendo and Sonic is to Sega and such. But now they're going to come out with a LittleBigPlanet Karting game?? lol... Not very original... I thought they were so original with their "creating your own games" and such things? Then why this??... Come on man...

@blakeney - Oh come on, you don't honestly believe what you just typed do you? You can't create a proper kart racer in LBP2 of the quality of a kart racer built specifically for kart racing gameplay. LBP2 doesn't even have proper 3D! It's 2D just with the 3 planes of depth. I don't care how good you are at creating levels in LBP. It isn't even remotely possible to create a kart racer of anywhere near the same quality as a proper kart racer built from the start specifically for kart racing. Now I at least understand the skepticism people have regarding this game with Modnation Racers out there even if I don't share that skepticism, but your post is utterly ridiculous.

I thought the whole ethos behind LBP, was that users create the "expantions" so they dont NEED to milk the series?? :| You'd think this kart racing thing would ATLEAST be ome kind of DLC for regular LBP(2 i guess, i was equally as mythed about this "ethos" when they made a number 2...)

Awesome. With Modnation Racers around, many people will no doubt flood the comments shooting this game down before we even know anything about this game. I on the other hand approach this with an open mind. As long as this game does a good job of differentiating itself from MNR, there's room for two creation heavy kart racing franchises on PS platforms. Remember when Nintendo had both Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing? They were both quite different. I'm sure this will be very different to MNR, and I'm definitely interested in how this is going to turn out.
