Little League games headed to GameCube, PS2
NewKidsCo secures the Little League Baseball license and announces the target consoles for the franchise.
NewKidsCo has announced that it has entered into a multiyear agreement to develop at least four games for next-generation platforms using the Little League Baseball license. The first two games will be released for the Sony PlayStation and the Game Boy Advance in spring 2002. Subsequent games will be released for the PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo GameCube. According to NewKidsCo, the games will employ all the Little League rules and regulations, but they won't be literal simulations of the Little League game.
"We are thrilled by the opportunity to work with Little League Baseball to bring the excitement of new 3D and interactive technologies to millions of kids who love their all-time favorite sport," said Hank Kaplan, CEO of NewKidCo. "We are confident that our long-term relationship with Little League Baseball will produce future titles that will appeal to new generations of Little Leaguers in the US and the world.''
NewKidsCo develops games aimed at a younger audience.
