Live-Action Snow White Movie on the Way From Disney
The 1937 classic is coming back in a new form.
Disney is making a live-action Snow White musical movie, according to a report today from The Hollywood Reporter. This is just the latest in Disney's efforts to reboot its classic animated films in live-action form, as Disney is doing the same for Mulan, The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast, among others.
According to the report, The Girl on the Train writer Erin Cressida Wilson will write the script for Disney's Snow White movie. Details are light at the moment, but the movie is reported to "expand upon the story and music from the beloved animated classic."

There will be brand-new songs, written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land), the report goes on to say. The original feature classic songs like "Heigh-Ho" and "Someday My Prince Will Come."
The original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, based on the Brothers Grimm story, was released in 1937. It's a legendary movie and won an honorary Oscar at the 11th Academy Awards.
There is no word yet on who would star in the new Snow White, who might direct it, or when it would be released. Go to The Hollywood Reporter to learn more about the new Snow White and Disney's live-action efforts overall.
