Lots Of Final Fantasy Games Coming To Xbox Game Pass; Kingdom Hearts Heads To Xbox One

You will be able to play classic Final Fantasy RPGs on Xbox One next year.

Square Enix joined Microsoft for its X019 livestream to announce that a plethora of Final Fantasy titles are making their way to Xbox One via Xbox Game Pass next year. Additionally, classic and Kingdom Hearts titles will be available on the Xbox platform.

A few classic Final Fantasy titles will arrive on Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC starting sometime next year. These include Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, and Final Fantasy XII. Square Enix also confirmed that some newer entries will be available next year, including Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy XV.

These include Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD Remix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Before wrapping up its announcements, Square Enix stated that demo for Kingdom Hearts III is available now on Xbox One.

Best trailer i have seen this year and its for game pass. Gamepass is by far the best thing to come out of this generation its just so good. Haven't boaught a game since red dead.

My gosh...they keep bringing it with Game Pass. So glad I got it. Really regretting not maxing out my Gold sub first though, haha.

@lionheartssj1: @lionheartssj1:I regret not maxing out my Gold sub as well. I rationalized back then that I need to work on my backlog after I finish the Gamepass sub, but it just keeps on getting better. I am still good until May 2021 though.

@waltdawg443: These games aren't first party Sony exclusives. They are third party games released initially on the PS4.

None of the PS or XBox first party exclusives have moved to either platform.

It seems that Microsoft isn't messing around with Game Pass in the slighest. Which is awesome. Because as of now, it is hands down the best subscription based streaming/downloading service on the market. And this is from just a PC player, I don't even have an Xbox to take full advantage of the service.

Playstation Now is a close second, especially with the price drop they had, bringing the cost of the 12 month sub to $60, so basically the cost of one AAA title gets you access to a boat load of PS2, PS3 and PS4 games. Sure most of them are pretty awful, but still, you get more game for your buck with 12 months of PSNow than you can get with most AAA titles recently it seems.

@R34Vegeta: PSNow only streams on PC at 720p while you can download the PC games from Gamepass for PC and play it at the highest resolution and fps you're PC and the game can manage. It is not even comparable considering you getting launch titles on Gamepass that are normally $60 while PSNow only offers older games at least a couple of years old.

@firedrakez: That's why I said it was a close second. As it's the only other contender by far. Stadia? Yeah right. Ubisoft and EA's offerings are just their own titles so you're pretty limited on choice there as well. And I can't think of anything else other than those.

Also, you can download PS4 games via PSNow...um, now. But yes, they are relatively old titles, so there's definitely room for Sony to up their game.

@firedrakez: Right, I guess I didn't make that distinction before.

But I suppose from a purely PC player perspective almost nothing come close to Game Pass, true. But from a "gaming in general" perspective, the only other service that comes close via selection per price, is PS Now, even with the limitations of PC streaming. At least in my opinion. Especially if you want to play older titles, 720p would be an upgrade in some cases.
