Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer for Mad Max, the video game set in George Miller's post-apocalyptic universe and developed by Avalanche Studios, the team behind Just Cause.
The trailer is a meaty two minutes of story exposition and gameplay, and shows Max on the search for his iconic car. Along the way we're also treated to a look at some explosive car sequences reminiscent of the recently released Mad Max: Fury Road and some brutal hand-to-hand combat too. Watch the trailer above.
As previously detailed in a Mad Max gameplay preview, players are thrown into The Wasteland with no possessions and must first build a car, the Magnum Opus, which can be upgraded and customized. This customization extends to hand-to-hand combat as well, with armor and weapons also upgradable.
Although it was originally scheduled to launch in 2014, the new Mad Max release date has been confirmed as September 1. The game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game were canceled in March.
