Magatama site open

Magatama is currently under development at Microsoft Games Studios in Japan and is scheduled for release later this year. To prep gamers, the game's official Web site has just gone live.

Magatama takes place in an alternate world, during a time in medieval Japan when a war rages between two forces named the Yamato and the Bakufu. In order to conquer the nation's capital and gain the upper hand, the Yamato force employs a summoner named Monkan to bring forth demons from the underworld to use as pawns.

The game's project lead is reportedly Kawai Hiroshi, formerly linked to Square's Final Fantasy VII and IX.
