Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 is out on the 24th of January, OK it's not the biggest game out this year but it should definitely be on the list. However I can't fathom why the author would omit Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries (out 10th September). The first single player, first person, Mechwarrior game in a decade (or more?) and Gamespot don't think it's worth mentioning.

If anyone hasn't played them yet id recommend the Metro games, Get the first 2 before the third is released next year. They are superb atmospheric shooters set in the Moscow Metro post nuclear fallout. The story is superb. buy the 3 books by Dimitry Glukhovsky, Metro 2033/34 and 35. The series is based on the books

It's pretty sad when early 2019 is ALMOST more exciting than holidays of 2018. Tomb Raider and Darksiders 3...and maybe RDR2.

The year start is so hot that I hope site editors get their copies at time for release. I don't want to wait for nothing of RE2 related, we've been waiting enough from Capcom to finally turn to where gamers are asking. I'd only accept a necesary delay for polishing.

Resident Evil 2, and Devil May Cry 5. Probably the most surprising games to get announced this year. I'll definitely be getting those. As well as Shenmue III, despite me being concerned how the game will be. Please lets hope that it doesn't suck.

Kingdom Hearts III i'm also interested in, even though I've never really played much of the other games, might need to rectify that before jumping into this one. Now Rage 2 i'll definitely pick up, that game looks like a lot of fun.

Might pick up Gears 5 since I've played the previous 4 games. Halo Infinite will definitely be one I'll look into. Skull and Bones I'll see how that game will do when it comes to Reviews, mostly because the other pirate game, Sea of Thieves, sort of made me become a little cautious.

Also...Battletoads...just...Yes.

Only 4 games confirmed for the Switch?

This is what an industry-wide bias against Nintendo produces.

I liked Kingdom Hearts when I was a kid, but I don't think I would really like it now. I WAS interested in Anthem and Days Gone, but after seeing gameplay of each I realized that they're not what I was expecting and I lost my interest in them. Trials, if you've played one you've played them all, so no thanks. Gears of War 5 doesn't look too appealing. 1 and 2 were great, but the excitement died after that so no thanks. Crackdown 3 might be fun, but all of the delays kind of worries me. Rage 2 may be cool too, but I never played the first game so I am not sure what it's all about. And finally Twin Mirror has my curiosity. Might be a great story! The rest of them I either have no interest in whatsoever or I have never heard of them.

@jayskoon93: Rage was awesome gameplay wise, but story? is so bad that jumping to Rage 2 will not make the experience suffer in any stretch of imagination.

@jayskoon93: Rage was an awesome shooter and a beautiful looking game for last gen. The only complaint was the campaign came to a very sudden end just when you felt like big things were about to happen. Certainly worth checking out if you can find it cheap.

From this past E3 2019 is slated to be another stand-out year in gaming.

As good as 2017 was (pretty much a AAA title being released every month, big name new IP’s new hardware in the form of the Switch/X box One X, as well as some huge, huge, huge name industry changing games like Zelda: BOTW.) I can’t help but feel 2019 might be up to the task of giving 2017 a run for it’s money.

Not only are some of the titles on this list (so far.) some big name heavy hitter titles but there are also a few “long awaited” titles that have been in videogame “limbo” for the better part of a decade (RE 2 Remake, Kingdom Hearts 3, etc…).

While 2019 may not have any new hardware making it onto the scene the library of games already having gamers drool upon their release isn’t something to be ignored.

The only question gamers will have now is…

How are they gonna afford all these game!

:/

@videogameninja: i agree on the software front. As far as hardware goes, those years always take a step backward in terms of game quality. Usually the release titles look amazing, but are just glorified tech demos, or are small slices of what the developers want to release. I can't help but think of Rare's game for 360 (started as Gamecube game, the Xbox exclusive, then delayed for 360...i can't recall the name of it tho), heavenly sword for ps3, forza 5 for x1, knack for ps4, & I could give dozens & dozens more examples over time. Those games all ended up being worse than they could have been if given proper dev time, or basically a demo version compared to the content & quality in future releases (forza 5 in mind in particular there). Project gotham racing 3 was identical in that regard for 360. PGR2 was amazing on xbox, but 3 was rushed & had half the content. It looked pretty, though, for sure. Kameo...that was the name of the Rare game i mentioned. But, yeah, i think not being a hardware release year is a good thing for games.

Maybe they'll finally do it differently when the next gen consoles come, but seriously, why would they change now? I only say maybe since the hardware, for the first time possibly, may have hit a plateau in terms of graphic quality, & seem to be almost exclusively increasing resolution. If they all have VR, or something, all bets are off, but otherwise the development of games should be relatively similar to this generation, especially if they all feel safe enough to stay w x86 architecture & don't feel they need to do anything unique in that regard. We'll see, but it may be the one generation that has the chance to actually deliver games of higher quality all around & not just better graphics, which then causes the other ares to suffer since they spend so much time learning & trying to use the extra oomph, in order to convince people they need to buy the new system because every game looks so pretty.

Hopefully Capcom keeps this trend of releasing awesome games with no bs. Fingers crossed for a Deep Down announcement next year, would like to see Dragon's Dogma 2 but unlikely unfortunately.

@gamingdevil800: I thought it was pretty much accepted that deep down morphed into dragons dogma 2, or vice versa? I don't think both of those will exist in the same generation (or at least 3 years apart, if they are indeed completely separate projects). I've been wrong before, though. Actually quite a bit, so maybe both will be announced soon ;).

@asnakeneverdies: may be a close one, but I'd have to give the edge to capcom, myself.

Wait, I'm thinking of game preference instead of amount of polish & quality of final release of their products...maybe?

@gamingdevil800: I suppose your severed head shall adorn the walls upon mine hearth, until your dead glass eyes and the flamelight thereon reflected become utterly engulfed and smothered by the settling dust. However, I fail to see how any of this is going to make Capcom's games suck any less, Monkey. ?

@asnakeneverdies: You fool I've been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku... Ben Swolo you couldn't even beat Rey when she had no training.

@asnakeneverdies: With Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter World, Capcom's trajectory is moving up. They still need to fix their fighting games though. Marvel vs Capcom Infinite was an insulting waste of time.

@USDevilDog: Man, every time I look at spiderman's overly muscular back and shoulders I just laugh. One of the best fighting games ever turned to some mediocre side show.

@craigtl: Hahaha yeah. Not to mention how lazy the animation was for Haggar and a few other characters. Chun Li's and Morrigan's faces look strange. Mega Man looks high. Hawkeye reminds me of imitation of Johnny Cage. Eyes and teeth in this game are really off. Everything about the game feels rushed and a bit generic. The roster is limited and dull. The combat feels a slow. I can go on.

@USDevilDog: to a non professional fighting game fan that doesn't play for ranked titles or spend any time in training mode on recent titles (big qualifier, lol), i really liked SFV & it's quality. However, it's quantity & content available on release was extremely lacking. They eventually caught up, but that's a whole other line of contention with their fighting games. I just thought it played well. Actually, i forgot the online was broken, so nevermind. I was thinking strictly of single player, but the story mode didn't come out for a year, so basically just arcade 1v1 battles isnall i can reference during release window....which probably means it should've been delayed & released when story mode was finished. So...i shouldn't have disputed that, because now I've convinced myself that your point is very valid, & Capcom, indeed, has work to do on their fighting games.

MvC3 was atrocious, imho. Whoever decided on that plastic look should never be allowed to be in the same room with anyone who will work on that series at anytime in the future.
