Sony likely won't be announcing the lineup of PlayStation Plus freebies for March for at least a few more days, but we now know what one of the games will be: Broforce.

The recently concluded Vote to Play initiative--where Plus subscribers could vote on one of three games to be free on PS4 in March--has come to an end, with Broforce coming out on top. The PlayStation EU Twitter account confirmed the winner of the voting this morning. Broforce will now be free once March's Instant Game Collection lineup becomes available on March 1.

Broforce had been competing against Action Henk and Assault Android Cactus. Henk was the leading vote-getter at one point, thanks in part to a Twitter campaign from publisher Curve Digital. Upon hearing Broforce had won, Curve's Twitter account was... disappointed.

The current slate of Plus games remains available until the new lineup arrives on March 1. You have until then to claim them, allowing you to keep them for as long as you remain a Plus subscriber.

@ghiba15: It is fun for a 2-3 hrs after that monotony sets in and you just feel like playing something else.

It is funny though while the fun lasts. Just not enough variety.

I was surprised there wasn't more love for Assault Android Cactus though.

@deviltaz35: I was surprised about that, especially after reading comments on the Playstation blog where, other than the same old complaints of the games being crap, most were saying they were voting for AAC.

@itchyflop: if you select the PS+ option from the dashboard it takes you to a dedicated page about all PS+ stuff and the voting is on there whenever they run them though they don't run them very often and it only decides one of the games. In fact I think this is only the second or third time they've bothered letting people vote.

@chubby170: It is pretty bad compared to what Microsoft give with games for gold. Got the previous Tombraider at the time i got the new one which was pretty cool. 360 game is dark souls for this month which i already have on PC but it's a good freebie all the same.

@rosinmonkekyx17: Lol, wrong! If I am spending money, they arent FREE games. Its pretty simple to see. As you mention, $50 for online services is not worth it. Its a ripoff, so getting crappy games as a bonus just adds to the frustration..

@Simulator_Shock: It is odd you can't keep them if you cancel plus service as MS don't have a restriction if you cancel live , you can still keep the games even if you revert back to silver.

In that particular way Sony has alot of catching up to do.

@rosinmonkekyx17: i think the valid argument is the quality of the free games on offer is often lacking. Checkout what you get on Xbox Live gold on both 360 and XboxOne and it is far better.

I am not knocking the console but live gold offers far greater value that Sony manage.

Personally i prefer to game on PC anyway so i tend to use the services for the free games so if they aren't up to scratch there is little point in me bothering to pay for PS plus.

I have an Xbox so I have already seen

PS3 this month is really eh but I'm not complaining, it's free, months for PS3 are usually very good

But compared to the 360's line-up, I'd say they have the better one this month, gonna be downloading Supreme Commander, already have Borderlands

Xbox One on the other hand is really eh

It's all a matter of preference, some people prefer indies but this is really my opinion

But the point here is these are free games, no matter their quality, and people should be happy they're at least getting something

@rosinmonkekyx17: True but they are really charging just to play online games on console. It's pretty rough when this is free on PC . I switched from console to PC in 2011 and although i did get both of the new consoles , i can't say i am actually impressed with either of them. The lack of 60 fps for most games such as Farcry Primal is just pretty ordinary really when i can easily play it on my PC in 1440p @ 60. Though i do have a 980ti and a 1440p Gsync display.

Maybe i was just expecting too much from the consoles.

Supreme commander is a bit slow and clunky to be honest on Xbox , it's much better on PC.

PC users (Correct me if I'm wrong) usually have to keep upgrading their rig with the next new thing, more improved graphics, etc.

But on console, one console comes at every so year so you can spend less money

Problem is PC costs a lot of money to buy (At least the high-end ones)

Supreme Commander? Any RTS I'll take :D

@_thghost_: Maybe it is for you but not my kind of game. I will say this and I am not a fanboy by any means since I own multiple consoles from playstation, xbox to dreamcast, Microsoft has been releasing better games recently vs Sony. Sony continues releasing mostly Indie games on Plus, while Microsoft has released more AAA games so to speak. IMHO, Sony needs to step up to the plate. I have been gaming for over 30 years and feel like with Sony's current marking plan with PS Now, it is really hurting the release of games on PS Plus.
