Mario Kart World Will Bring Back The Franchise's Most Iconic Track, It Appears
You guessed it, Rainbow Road is (probably) coming back.
Mario Kart World for Switch 2 was recently officially unveiled, but Nintendo made no mention of the franchise's most iconic track, Rainbow Road. It appears it will indeed once again return, as an image that leaked from Nintendo Korea's website appears to tease Rainbow Road.
As spotted by Eurogamer, the Nintendo Korea website for Mario Kart World posted--and swiftly removed--the image below. It seems to suggest Rainbow Road is coming back, and might be featured on the Mario Kart World map near Princes Peach's Castle.
Rainbow Road has finally been found. It seems it will be unlocked later in the game.

For anyone just catching up, Mario Kart World features a sprawling, interconnected world where players can drive from one course to another. Members of the press got to play Mario Kart World during a Switch 2 demo event recently, but the game's open-world map was limited.

It would be unthinkable for Nintendo to not bring Rainbow Road to Mario Kart World, but it appears the company is saving its official unveiling for a later date. Nintendo has said the April 17 Nintendo Direct focused on Mario Kart World will contain many more details about the game to help convince people it's worth paying $80 for.
Nintendo Korea's website for Donkey Kong: Bananza, meanwhile, leaked some important details, too.
Mario Kart World is a launch title for the Switch 2, arriving alongside the system on June 5. For more, check out GameSpot's hands-on preview of Mario Kart World, in which we called it a "bold sequel."
