Marvel Cosmic Invasion was revealed during the Nintendo Direct.
Dotemu has revealed Marvel Cosmic Invasion, a retro 2D beat-'em-up game featuring Marvel superheroes in a classic art style. Revealed during the Nintendo Direct, Marvel Cosmic Invasion features up to four-player co-op and has several Marvel characters you can play as to smack down alien invaders.
For each level, you pick two characters, swapping between the two via team-up attacks, and creating special combo attacks depending on which characters you choose. While only a handful of characters were shown in the reveal trailer, the Marvel Cosmic Invasion Steam page states that there will be 15 playable characters to choose from.
The trailer revealed a handful of Marvel characters you can play as, like Wolverine, Captain America, Spider-Man, Venom, Nova, Phyla-Vell, and Storm. There was also a boss fight against Task Master shown, along with a brief glimpse of the Sentinel enemies from X-Men in the cinematic.
The big villain in Marvel Cosmic Invasion is Annihilus, and the game will take place across both Earth and the larger galaxy as you battle against bug-like aliens and iconic Marvel villains.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is set to release in 2025 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC.
