Marvel Reveals Avengers: Endgame Footage Behind Closed Doors; Here's What Happened
Avengers: Endgame hits theatres this month, finally.
New footage from the hugely anticipated Avengers: Endgame was shown during the CinemaCon event this week in Las Vegas, and it suggests Captain Marvel may play a major role. Although it can't be seen by anyone other than those invited to attend the behind-closed-doors showing, details from it have made their way online. [Update: Following CinemaCon, we got our own chances to see 10 minutes of footage that has not been shown publicly. We've got a roundup of what we learned about Endgame from it, which includes details on how much time has passed since Infinity War--a major question we've had for the better part of a year now. Since then, Marvel has also publicly released a small part of that new footage focused on where Captain Marvel has been. We can likely expect more with the Avengers cast appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live all this week.]
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney showed "several minutes" of the movie, and one scene showed Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) telling the Avengers that they plan to kill Thanos. They might not have succeeded in Infinity War, but Captain Marvel says in the new footage, "Before, you didn't have me."
Captain Marvel the character is incredibly powerful, so she'll no doubt be able to help the Avengers in whatever plan they've come up with. Her debut in the MCU was teased in an after-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War before getting her own solo film this year--marking Marvel's final movie before the release of Endgame.

Also in the new footage, Captain America (Chris Evans) loses his subdued attitude and bluntly states about Thanos, "Let's get that son of a bitch." ComicBook also saw the footage, and the site reports that the footage included Nebula saying she knows where Thanos is, and that Captain Marvel has a cocky attitude and believes Thanos has never faced someone as powerful as her. Captain Marvel also apparently talks about wanting to use the Infinity Stones to undo Thanos' snap.
CinemaCon is an annual tradeshow where movie theatre owners get together. The major film studios usually attend and show footage of their upcoming film slate. The event is not open to the public, and there is no filming or livestreams, so reports are text-only. Whether footage leaks remains to be seen.
