Mass Effect: Andromeda Multiplayer Beta News Coming Soon (Maybe)

BioWare may share more details later this month.

Mass Effect fans can expect to learn more about the beta for Mass Effect: Andromeda later this month, apparently. The game's lead designer, Ian Frazier, said on Twitter (via GameZone) that the "odds are good" that BioWare will divulge some details about this before the month is out.

BioWare confirmed that Andromeda would have a multiplayer mode in November 2016. You can sign up for a chance to take part in the pre-release play period here on BioWare's website.

Now Playing: GS News Update: Mass Effect Andromeda Multiplayer Beta News Coming Soon?

There is no word yet on what the Andromeda beta will include, or if it will be available on all platforms. Presumably all of this will become clear later this month.

Andromeda's multiplayer will tie into the game's campaign. In terms of gameplay, you can expect to be on the move more often than in Mass Effect 3. Whereas that game often saw players often stay in a fixed location they could defend, Andromeda will throw new enemy types at you that force you into or out of cover.

In other news, BioWare has confirmed that Andromeda will not have a season pass. There is likely to be DLC for the game, but it remains to be seen how it will be released. BioWare has said it is plans to discuss specifics at a later date.

The Andromeda beta won't be the only way to play the game ahead of launch. A portion of the game will be available for a limited time early via EA Access on Xbox One and Origin Access for PC. In the past, EA/Origin Access members have been able to play an upcoming game five days before its official release date, but BioWare has not announced the timing for Andromeda. Producer Michael Gamble said on Twitter that the early play period will be for "a number of days."

Andromeda launches on March 21 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For lots more on the game, check out all of GameSpot's previous coverage here.

This game better not have any DLC on the disk like Mass Effect 3 did.

Yup, there might be news in the future. As much as I love Mass Effect, I refuse to get hyped at the possibility of an announcement designed to generate hype (for a beta). That's three levels removed from being hyped for the game itself. Won't do it.

GS you make yourself look desparate with rediculous posts like this. You should have let the other news sites get the scoop on this non news reporting news that isnt news.

@hlmcpherson: Why don't you just read one of the other posts about comic book super heroes and tv shows? There should be plenty for you here now.

I'm conflicted with my gruntle at this site. On the one hand I want to say this news of news coming has got to stop. It's like when Hollywood does a stupid trailer for a trailer coming next week. Just hit us up when there is news, not news of news coming. But on the other hand these kind of articles are a good heads up...but then again I'd just see it on here with they write an article about the beta so I stick with the former. Stop news of news articles , please!
