Mass Effect: Andromeda -- Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani Talks About His Character

After announcing that comedian, writer, and actor Kumail Nanjiani would voice the alien Jarun Tann in Mass Effect: Andromeda last month, BioWare today put out a new video about the character.

Nanjiani said Tann, a politician, is "sort of a weasly guy," more concerned with his own interests.

"I think he means well, but he also likes power. He's excited but also a little bit in over his head [and] doesn't want anyone to know," Nanjiani says. "He sort of plays up his importance in every mission."

Nanjiani is a longtime Mass Effect fan, saying in the video that he played the original trilogy and that it stands as his favorite gaming experience ever.

"What I love about Mass Effect is it's morally very vague. It's hard to know what the right thing to do is," he said.

Nanjiani's is not the only famous voice you'll hear in Andromeda. Game of Thrones actors Natalie Dormer and Gethin Anthony are also voicing characters, as is The Shawshank Redemption's Clancy Brown.

Andromeda launches on March 21 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You may not have to wait that long to play, however, as a multiplayer beta is expected to launch at some point before then.

In other news, BioWare has confirmed the game has gone gold and confirmed that there will be a day one patch. We also now know the game's file size. Additionally, BioWare GM Aaryn Flynn has clarified the comments he made about Andromeda being "softcore space porn."
