Medal of Honor beta fires up Xbox 360

The beta is horrible, little to no recoil, scorestreaks promote camping (despite DICE saying campers will do badly) etc. The only thing that will save this game is the BF3 beta, (introduced by EA due to the amount of negative beta feedback and pre ordwer cancellations on the forums)

I'm excited for an alternative to call of duty. Oh, and there was a typo-july 31 in the article, but july 21 in the headline. sorry, i know i'm a nerd.

THis game looks boring and looks just like BC2 but without destructible environments. Like at least do something to make it different from BC2 and MW2. Add some realistic body damage, make shotguns to the face really tear up a face...anythign to make it different from MW2 and BC2. Make the single player really interactive and long rather than just ultra linear and scripted like todays other boring fps games.

you cant unless you were one of the 10k ppl with ea games picked at random to particpate.the only way to get acess now is to preorder.or hope you have a friend with a unused beta key that is willing to give it to you.

MOH is basically a "copy and paste" version of MW2 and BFBC2. just like rap and pop music where everything is a copy from someone eles's talent, this game follows exactly that. games suck soo bad now. Look at how many World War 2 games are out there, look at every FPS in the last 4 years that plays almost like COD games... part of the reason : the gaming community lacks the brains to make things that are original... typical 12 year olds consist of 90% of the gaming community these days

I got a beta invitation on the ps3, The game is fun though I wish there was more destructibility in the environments though the shooting and fighting is (ok). It is an (ok) mix of Battlefield: Bad Company and Cod: MW but hopefully everything will be improved in the full game. Oh and MyLameUsername I never did pre-order the game. They sent invitations to a few thousand people (Maybe around 8,000 or 10,000).

ha, what do you know. i get emailed the beta, but the website is freakin broke. can EA keep anything online running right? And oh yeah, i didn't preorder.

@mylameusername, yeah I would prefer games to do more open betas and multiplayer demos but Mag was different to this in so many ways, first off Mag is a PS exclusive so it was up to sony not the developers to have a beta, also they wanted to see what would happen in the 128 player matches etc. that people were worried about being f**ked up with lag etc. at the time. but yeh I agree would prefer more betas...

another fps that only focuses on the multiplayer

I think I may step back and not play another online FPS for 2-3 years. I love the genre but it seems to have stalled recently, MW2 was enjoyable for a few months but it slowly became a grind for that next prestige so I sold it - if I wait until a truly ground breaking release (this looks like more of the same tbh) then I can have fun again.

Wow, to test the game, you need to preorder it first! You didn't have to preorder MAG to play the beta....

I'll be working my current 6th prestige up to 10th in mw2 this autum by the looks and sounds of this ... :/ And if I get Battlefield fever, then I got BC2 to load up.

Canceled my preorder. This isn't enough of a step away from 100 other games I've played for it to merit a day-one $60 purchase.

I tried the beta on ps3. Wasn't that good...but then again...its a beta.

wtf since when do you have to pay for demos..? demos are supposed to be free just cuz you call it beta don't mean 8888 to me. i aint payin for a demo when the demo is suppose pay for itself.. whats my generation turning into? i bet if you could you give a controller finger recognition that would make my friends have to buy their own controller and online the same way resturants say you can't share your food ya would. really and games used to be 50 bucks too.

It may have an aesthetic similarity to battlefield but it has its own unique feel. I'll wait for the reviews to make my final decision on whether to buy this or not.

The only thing that can save this game now is the reviews. the beta was horrible and repetitive in the environment and the gameplay even playing on PC maxed out.

Wait a minute, the headline says it's extended to July 21st, but the page says it's extended to the 31st. That's a pretty important detail I don't understand.

Don't put your hopes up 360 owners, the beta is nothing but a glorified version of Battlefield and with a dozen load of bugs.

Im just going to stay with BC2

It's time for the franchise to take a new direction!!! The only question is "who's gonna do it?" It seems that in this day and age almost all creativity has gone out the window. When one developer creates something that sells all other game developers jump on the band wagon which ends up killing everyone's apetite. (Ex. WWII shooters...CoD, CoD 2, CoD 3, MoH:A.A, MoH: P.A., MoH:Frontline, BiA:RtH30, BiA: EiB, BiA:H.H....and the list goes on)

I'm not too sure about purchasing this game :/ I tried the beta and it seems better than CoD. But it just doesnt feel like a new experience. Im gonna het Halo Reach cuz that game is gonna own MoH and CoD: BO I'll wait for reviews than see if this game is any good. And honestly, I dont understand why you have to pre-order it just to play the beta. It should be available as a demo!

@DarthEthong467 MW2 sux, i would rather play this than MW2. and im not gonnal list off the stolen sound effects because i have a life and its a stupid waste of time. and spawn camping is easy, on the deathmatch map from any high point you can see through several buildings and aim at their spawn point. and walking is just one of the many sounds missing. you seem to be trying to make this a flame ware, grow up a little

This game will fail. The beta is a major letdown, and no they wont fix it. They've clearly decided the lowest common denominator will be their audience. Guns have no recoil, kill ultra fast, Assault Rifles overpower everything else. Oddly explosions are severely underpowered, no doubt trying to fix MW2s mistakes. The spawning is horrific, especially for the defenders in the objective gamemode. I still await the final game, but this is looking like a rental, unless DICE really pulls an all nighter.

MoH is just like BC2, with the exception of bullet drop for sniping, which is fine if you haven't played BC2. I'm gonna wait until BF3, whenever that will be.

I think it was a stupid idea for them to have DICE do their multiplayer. I am not saying DICE is bad, its just that the engines, graphics, and such will be different between single and multiplayer, which is a little dumb. The only thing I don't like about the Frostbite engine is the annoying weapon bob! Its ridiculously annoying and somewhat childish-looking (It sways way too much). Other than that I admit it is a good engine. But I have played the beta, and agree with the people who say that it isn't doing anything special. No new gameplay mechanics. So its a pass for me.

Since it is like bad company 2 it will be another mega fail on EAs part.

I played the beta and of course its going to look and feel at Bad Company. I mean look at the turn around time Dice had from Bad Company to this game. 7 months. That isnt a lot of time. I like Bad Company 2, just got tired of COD, especially with all the hackers who cant seem to actually prove they have skill. MOH is a little more fast pace but essentially the same formula. I will get it, as I am really interested in the Single player story anyway and the multiplayer is fun, especially if you like BC2. Personally, the one thing I hoped for was that they moved away from the defined class base and allowed players to mix and match layouts across all weapon classes but oh well. Maybe next time.

People seem to think a betas primary purpose is for gamers to see what the game is like, but in reality its mainly to test for glitches and errors in the multiplayer. A beta is a beta, and a demo is a demo, they are different things.

Wait, wait, so i have to purchase the game then i can try the Beta? haha no thanks. A beta is all about testing. The people that developed Blur had the right idea, a downloadable demo on the marketplace.

its not on my 360 but on my ps3 wonder why oh & getting it on ps3 why cause FREE ONLINE is the way to go for online FPS & others

@myungish It looks like BC2 but it feels different. And it is DICE how made the MP part of MOH, so of course it looks like BC2

No perks, No super killstreak crap, its harder for the campers to camp. MOH is more about skill. The perfect FPS game for me :D
