Media: Virtua Athlete 2K

Sega of Japan released a handful of new screen shots and some gameplay details on Virtua Athlete 2k for the Dreamcast. As mentioned in our World Hobby Fair report, the game has a similar control scheme to Decathlete for the Sega Saturn - players must press several buttons rapidly while coordinating their actions with D-Pad movement.

Another interesting feature includes the ability to create an athlete and to post the results of the created athlete's performance online - matching it up against players worldwide. Virtua Athlete 2k will be released in Japan in July. It will be available in the US and Europe later this year.
