Mega Man 10 charges onto WiiWare

Capcom debuted Mega Man 10 in Nintendo Power magazine before announcing the Blue Bomber's latest 8-bit outing for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is fitting, then, that the game will deploy first on Nintendo's console. With the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 launches of the game slated for March 11 and March 31, respectively, Mega Man 10 leads Nintendo's store update on the Wii this week for 1,000 points ($10).

Directed by original Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, Mega Man 10 continues in the vein established with 2008's well-regarded Mega Man 9, as it once again sees the robotic warrior donning his retro armor and weapons for 2D platforming action. Mega Man 10's throwback theme extends to gameplay design as well, as the Blue Bomber blasts and leaps through eight stages to confront and absorb the powers of themed boss characters.

JV Games' Dart Rage and Gamebridge's Happy Hammerin' join Mega Man 10 on WiiWare this week. The former costs 600 Wii points ($6), accommodates play for up to four, and offers four different game types: 301-901, cricket, poker, and American (baseball) darts. Also a party game, Happy Hammerin' draws its inspiration liberally from the classic coin-op Whack-A-Mole, letting up to four players bash the furry talpidaes for 500 Wii points ($5).

Gameloft tees up Let's Golf on DSiWare this week for 800 DSi points ($8). Accommodating play for up to two, Let's Golf offers 45 different holes set across three locales: Fiji Beach, the English countryside and the Scottish lochs. Sports gamers can alternatively pick up Virtual Toys' VT Tennis for 500 DSi points ($5). The single-player game offers Quickmatch, Tennis School, and World Championship modes across such surfaces as grass, clay, hard courts, and wood.

EA will try its hand at kid-friendly horror on the DSi with Flips: Terror in Cubicle Four for 500 DSi points ($5). The mystery title sees gamers attempting to sleuth out the cause of a green goop pouring out of the fourth stall in the girl's restroom. Globulos Party rounds out the week's DSiWare offerings. Available for 500 DSi points ($5), the game features 20 minigames, including 4-Square, Arena, Basket, Bomber, Bomber-King, Croquet, Darts, Darts-King, Soccer, Funky-Soccer, Ice Hockey, Monster, Petanque, Pinball, Rally, Football, Snooker, Sumo, Tic-Tac-Toe, and Volley.

Fatal Fury Special represents the sole Virtual Console release on the Wii this week. Originally released for the NeoGeo in 1993, the head-to-head fighter features 15 fighters from the Fatal Fury franchise and is available for 900 Wii points ($9). The game was released to middling reviews for the Xbox 360 in 2007.
